This promotion will be a huge embarassment to wrestling and wrestling fans, if that's even possible. And I'm a fan of a few guys they've signed. While WWEEEeee is putting out a shitty product that insults every brain cell in any rational thinking person's head, NWATNA seems to want to make Raw and Smackdown look like 'The Godfather' to their 'Freddy Got Fingered.'

- A tag team named Rod and Richard Johnson, wearing skin colored bodysuits and penis masks.

- The return of Lenny and Lodi, no longer held back by Standards and Practices.

- Bob Ryder as talent coordinator, and rumored part-owner.

- Ryder hiring Scott "Last Call" Hall, Grandmastah Sexay, Rick Steiner, and Buff Bagwell (and his mommy?).

- Offering to book Shinya Hashimoto for their debut show, but only if he pays for his own plane ticket to and from Japan, and is willing to stay in Motel 6. WTF?!

- Vince Russo ghostwriting the programs, despite claims to the contrary by the 1wrestling.com Shill Buddies.

- Don West. Ok, actually, that's not so bad. But how the fuck is Mike Tenay supposed to call a match between two wrestling penises and two wrestling fudgepackers?

- The promoter's son will be one of the top stars in the fed. That always works. Just ask Verne Gagne.

- They're going to have a Battle Royal to crown their first champion, on their first ever telecast, at the cost of $10. Battle Royals stink - a bunch of guys holding the ropes, a bunch of guys throwing lame punches, killing time, until the next contrived elimination. Nobody cares, almost nobody wants to pay $10 to watch a promotion debut, and who the fuck would CONTINUE paying $10 every single week after watching a Battle Royal featuring Hall, Bagwell, Jarrett, and teh Grandmastah?

- Vince Russo.

- Bob Ryder.

- Bob Ryder (apparently, he's the one who decided that a weekly PPV for a new promotion was a good idea).

- Their first PPV telecast will feature a ten woman lingerie type sort of Battle Royal type thingy. With more free porn available than hours in a day with a few mouse clicks, who the fuck is going to pay $10 to see this? People without internet, maybe? Then what the fuck makes anyone think, if they can't afford internet, they CAN afford to spend $10 each and every week on this crap?

And people wonder why WWE is the only wrestling available to the mainstream American consumer. THIS is the best alternative anyone could come up with.

Anyone want to hear about the Destroyer vs. Giant Baba match I watched the other day? It was really fucking good.

Who will die first? This organization or Scott Hall?
Seriously though, how many chances is this guy going to have? What is more pathetic - Him, or these companies that continue to employ him? It's just getting sad at this point. Hell, even Steve Howe was banned after what, the 8th time??..

Only if you don't charge me $10 to hear about it.

Well, unlike Greg Gagne, Jeff Jarrett actually has some talent and charisma going for him. Still, point taken.

The only bright side to this (for me, anyway) is that Joel Gertner is coming on board as their manager. I've always been a huge mark for Gertnerisms.

Sir, you idiot, you forgot to mention the worst thing about it:

Bob Ryder.

Anyway, this promotion is already a joke before it gets off the ground, as has been stated here. Note to wrestling promoters INCLUDING THOSE IN THE WWE: I think the "Attitude" shock TV era of wrestling is over. CAN WE GET OUT OF IT NOW. Outside of the music industry, the wrestling industry is the absolute worst industry on the planet when it comes to driving something that has been successful in the past to the absolute ground, even years after it's run it's course, and, like music, is such a godamned copycat business, you really almost wonder why anybody would WANT to come up with an original idea. Here's giving NWATNA three months tops.

And, Francine Banger, you know, they all get old sometime, usually around 14, I mean, 25. Don't risk your eyes, ears and well being ordering this atrocity of a company's PPVs with the possibility that Francine has past her prime. It might drive you to suicide, and I don't want to see that happen to a young guy with tussleable hair like you.

2002 Crack Committee Objectives:
1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year
2. Hate the Braves with a passion
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
4. Mets win World Series
5. Boo that piece of shit Rey Ordonez, regardless of his sexuality and/or deadbeat dad status.

Who said anything about ordering. And Ive seen some new photos of her website, and she looks better than she did the last couple of years in ECW,especially when she was with Dreamer and Raven. She got better at the end with Justin Credible, but she was definetly at her best with the Franchise.

Well, here's a fucking long interview featuring Double J. Just thought I'd post up some of this bullshit...

-- The following is from WrestlingOutlaws.com:

quote:

Last night on my radio show I had the honor of interviewing "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett, and you can see Jeff was very candid in the interview. Some of the topics we discussed were of course NWA/TNA, Vince McMahon, Vince Russo, Scott Hall, etc. It's a good read, enjoy!

MATT: Ok we are joined by the man who is the original Chosen One, The Master of The Slapnuts, and co-owner of NWA/TNA, of course it's "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. Jeff how you doing man?

JEFF JARRETT: Matt, I appreciate you're letting me be on the show tonight. I'm doing great, really looking forward to the big day. Counting down, the 19th isn't that far off.

MATT: That is true, and of course you're talking about NWA/TNA Total Non stop Action, the big PPV and you know we were talking about this earlier before we went on the air, I'm the biggest wrestling fan here at our station..

JEFF JARRETT: Now is that documented and clarified, could you take that to court? Is that proven yet?

MATT: Actually Jeff, it has been.

JEFF JARRETT: Oh ok.

MATT: I've seen the WWA, heard about the XWF, and I think without a shadow of a doubt that NWA/TNA, based on the history of the NWA, and the list of people I have seen you and your Dad have signed, is going to eventually be that competition that WWE is trying to keep down.

JEFF JARRETT: Well you know what Matt, what we're trying to do is put out an alternative product. And you guys down in the Carolinas, without a doubt, NWA was a stronghold there. That was wrestling. NWA is the foundation for wrestling. You know the new term came along a few years ago, Sports Entertainment. Well, really wrestling IS Sports Entertainment. And Sports Entertainment is wrestling. It's just a new fancy name for wrestling, but NWA dates back to the early 1900's and it really is the foundation for what all wrestling and Sports Entertainment is based on. So, you guys in the Carolinas, absolutely know your wrestling and what we really want to do is put out an alternative product something the fans can tune into every Wednesday night and it's 2 hour commercial free of Non Stop action with plenty of T and A.

MATT: Well we love the T and A, and I've heard the list of women you have signed, of course Francine, The Queen of Extreme formerly of ECW, and Alicia Webb aka Ryan Shamrock, now I know you guys have Ken Shamrock signed, are we going to see the Ryan Shamrock character?

JEFF JARRETT: No, I believe she's going to have an identity all to herself.

MATT: Ok because I was going to get to that, you guys have Ken Shamrock signed, talk about the names you guys have signed, tell us who we can see at the PPV.

JEFF JARRETT: Well, of course I've done many interviews and when the word got out that Scott Hall was signed, I mean Scott, I've faced him in the ring many times myself, he's a controversial character, in and out of the ring, and he's signed. Ken Shamrock, as you mentioned, the World's Most Dangerous Man, and with his success in the WWF as well as the UFC, he's a cross over celebrity and superstar, you've got Buff Bagwell. Buff has definitely had his ups and downs. I've spoken with Buff within the last 7 to 10 days and he knows he's got his work cut out for him. It's not going to be easy. I mean he's done things in the past and Buff at times has been his own worst enemy. And so now it's time for him to step it up more than a few notches. And we'll see what he's got. You got "The Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner, and Rick as you know has won title after title, he's got a storied career, but it's going to be time for him to step it up. But we also have Brian Christopher, just off a long stint with the WWF.

MATT: I was reading something your Dad (Jerry Jarrett) wrote on NWATNA.com and he said one of the priorities of NWA/TNA was to showcase young, virtually unknown talent. And you want to make those guys superstars. Two guys I'm talking about is Low Ki, who I've interviewed before, and A.J. Styles who I'll be interviewing here in the next few days...

JEFF JARRETT: Well Matt, I was wondering who you were going to bring up because we have a lot of young talent signed. I wouldn't exactly call Jerry Lynn young, because he's definitely made more than a name for himself in ECW, but he's a superb talent, but Low Ki and A.J. Styles, we're going to introduce them to the world in an unbelievable fashion because those 2 guys can flat out get it when they step into the ropes and I'm really looking forward to those guys getting the opportunity to show their stuff on a National and International platform.

MATT: Talking about showing their stuff, you guys have signed a couple tag teams that you're calling controversial. Of course, The Rainbow Express, Lenny and Lodi and their going to be managed by one of my favorites "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner.

JEFF JARRETT: That's a pretty good mix there, huh?

MATT: Yeah I'd say so, talking about going from one extreme to the other....

JEFF JARRETT: And those guys have assured me that just because they have an alternative lifestyle doesn't mean that their wrestling's going to be any different. They're expecting big things out of NWA/TNA and with Joel Gertner I guess you could say it's going to be an explosive mix between the two.

MATT: And the other quote "controversial" tag team, Richard and Rod Johnson, now explain them to me.

JEFF JARRETT: You know I don't really know how their characters are going to evolve, but man has their signing started some unbelievable controversy. I mean it's pretty amazing we have signed some of the best Independent talent on the scene, established stars, and all of the sudden word gets out that Richard and Rod Johnson are coming to invade the rings of NWA/TNA with Mortimer Plumtree guiding them, those guys I can assure you, their wrestling abilities will speak volumes.

MATT: I hear they're looking for some "stiff" competition....

JEFF JARRETT: That's what I hear Matt, you're doing your homework buddy.

MATT: Ha, thanks Jeff, and you know what else I've a big fan of? That's late night TV. And when I'm flipping the channels I used to watch Shop At Home and I collect sports memorabilia...

JEFF JARRETT: I know who we're talking about now....

MATT: The guy you have signed on as the color commentator on NWA/TNA, Don West. That guy is hilarious. I used to watch Shop At Home just to hear the guy scream and act a fool. The dude would scream, and I know people remember him. Hell, Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live even did a parody of him several years ago. I read something on the site he wrote where he said I'm no wrestling historian, I'm just a fan with a love for wrestling. I mean if he knows just a little bit, with his explosive style, he'll be reason enough for me to tune in...

JEFF JARRETT: I can tell you Matt, I've been to wrestling matches with Don here locally and he brings an infectious type of excitement and raw enthusiasm and he admits it, he's definitely no Mike Tenay, he's no wrestling historian, actually he enjoys the simplest things in wrestling, but he's like the guy that sits at the end of the bar when you're watching a football game that really has a passion for the game. The numbers he did at the Shop At Home network would blow your mind Matt. They were astronomical and it was all his sheer passion for what he does. He really gets involved in everything he puts his mind to. But he's going to be very green, he's the new guy in the announce booth, he won't know all the ends and outs, but one thing that'll never hold him back is that he's going to be new, and he's going to be refreshing and he's really got some excitement.

MATT: Awesome, well one other thing I wanted to ask you about, there's a lot of internet rumors out there about NWA/TNA. A lot of people are speculating that Vince Russo is somehow involved with NWA/TNA. Do you want to set the record straight for us on that topic?

JEFF JARRETT: Well, Matt you're aren't the first guy to ask me that question. Me and Russo go a long way back. We were friends before he started writing the magazine back in the WWF.

MATT: Ahh the old Vic Venom columns...

JEFF JARRETT: Right and it goes back some ten years. I saw him rise through the ranks and then he went to WCW and we worked together there, and right now Russo is tied up in lawsuits and operates his own businesses so as far as having his hand in the NWA/TNA business, it's just goes to show you that people want to believe what they want to believe and if they get just a morsel or thread of a rumor they're going to take it and run with it. And they want to make it bigger than life. But the controversy that he has created just by a new product coming on the shelf, people wonder is Russo attached to this? Matt, you wouldn't believe the emails we've gotten on that situation.

MATT: I can believe that, well before you go, three people that I have always enjoyed in the quote old school days of wrestling. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, "King" Harley Race, and Dory Funk, Jr. and they're going to be part of the first PPV. Talk about what it means to the first show of NWA/TNA to have those guys there.

JEFF JARRETT: Well Matt, if you go down the long list of NWA champions that haven't been seen in a while, that haven't been seen in the public, I don't think you could pick any better three guys. You know, Lou Thesz, God rest his soul, passed away recently, and Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, Harley Race, and Dory Funk Jr., all had distinct styles, distinct championship title reigns. So, to have those 3 guys at the PPV, is a real honor. Because they bring tradition, they bring heritage, they are just like the NWA, those guys paved the way for so many of us. So, it's going to be a real honor and I'm looking forward to being a part of the same show as them.

MATT: Well Jeff, NWA/TNA - Total Nonstop Action, it's going to be the world premiere at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama on June 19th.

JEFF JARRETT: That right's Wednesday June 19th and it's not only June 19th, it's June 26th, July 3rd, July 10th, every Wednesday night. On pap per view, 8 PM EST. call your local cable or satellite company for availability. They'll give you all the details. Every Wednesday night at 8 PM EST.

MATT: Excellent Jeff, well I appreciate it and you know I read what Vince McMahon said yesterday about it (NWA/TNA), but I know a lot of people that wouldn't mind paying less than $10 bucks a week to see something new that quite frankly probably doesn't involve one man taking a piss on another guy.

JEFF JARRETT: Well Matt, everybody's got a difference of opinion and to me we're going to be offering something that, there's been wrestling fans out there in the past that many WCW fans that didn't switch over to WWF programming when WWF bought WCW, and there's wrestling fans being created everyday so we're putting out a product, virtually 2 hours of non stop action for under $10 when there's a lot of people that pay $40 for 3 hours, so in a month's time we're giving you more bang for your buck.

MATT: Jeff, you are the Original Chosen One, and next time I see you again, I want to take a guitar shot to the dome.

JEFF JARRETT: You got it Matt, you slapass!

I'd just like to say that despite the possibility of major league sucking, I WANT this promotion to succeed. Anything to rival Vince, anything as an alternative. With their talent line-up, there's at least a few guys that I wouldn't mind seeing on a weekly basis.

Bob Ryder as talent coordinator, and rumored part-owner.

Quick, someone confirm for me that he's been hardcore shilling it on 1wrestling.com. I'd go there and look myself, but I don't want to drown in a sea of popups. "Slow ad market" my ASS.

Ryder hiring Scott "Last Call" Hall, Grandmastah Sexay, Rick Steiner, and Buff Bagwell (and his mommy?).

Hall has name recognition and still has his fans. Sexay & Bagwell are has beens / never wases. Steiner is a shell of his former self, but if they let him go out there and stiff people, I could tolerate him.

Offering to book Shinya Hashimoto for their debut show, but only if he pays for his own plane ticket to and from Japan, and is willing to stay in Motel 6. WTF?!

Hideous way to disrespect one of the recent NWA champions, and one of the best Japanese heavyweights of the past decade (his legacy, IMO, is only tarnished by his feud with Ogawa, but even then I give Shinya mad props for actually sacrificing part of his career to put that no-talent waste over). Alas, Hash wouldn't have much of a role in the new fed anyway; he's Japanese. Honestly, how often does a foreign wrestler get over here in the States to the mainstream wrestling fans? He'd show up, and actually put on stellar matches, and you'd still have guys like Diamond Dust questioning why he was hired in the first place.

Vince Russo ghostwriting the programs, despite claims to the contrary by the 1wrestling.com Shill Buddies.

Can he PLEASE just retire already like he promised us?

The promoter's son will be one of the top stars in the fed. That always works. Just ask Verne Gagne.

I'm with Hydrated Peach. I can see where you're going; nepotism NEVER works well (something I wish had been hammered into Vince's head years ago), but Jeff is no Greg Gagne. I'm hoping they don't put the belt on Jarrett, although they don't have many options after him; I'd think Shamrock would be a favorite to win, but there's the rumors that he's going to half-ass his matches so as to save himself for MMA.

Their first PPV telecast will feature a ten woman lingerie type sort of Battle Royal type thingy

Not to nitpick, but this is no worse than anything you'd see on the WWF every week. It's unnecessary, sure, but I'm guessing the chicks will be better looking than Terri "Methusaleh" Runnels.

Anyone want to hear about the Destroyer vs. Giant Baba match I watched the other day? It was really fucking good.

They had some fantastic matches together; Destroyer was not only an exceptional wrestler, he was tremendous at psychology. I'm dying to know if any footage of his matches with Rikidozan exists. Check out http://thedestroyer.com for his website.

Sad thing is, Sir O, I think only you and I know who I'm talking about.

What was the Freddy got Fingered bashing, it was funny and more than that it gave a chance too see how sexy a girl in a wheelchair can be at least with a stick of bamboo hehehe...

First off, i don't understand the appeal of Jeff Jarret and never have. His matwork has never been that good, or at least in the matches i've seen. As for Jeff's personality, the Chosen One gimmick while it is at least his little attempt to be an original character (he gets points for that) but it does'nt make up for the fact that he's boring... and the Slapnuts signature came out of nowhere and basically lead to nothing. I don't know there must be some earlier work he's done (that i haven't seen) that gets him the respect of normally acurate fans.

quote:

JEFF JARRETT: Well Matt, everybody's got a difference of opinion and to me we're going to be offering something that, there's been wrestling fans out there in the past that many WCW fans that didn't switch over to WWF programming when WWF bought WCW, and there's wrestling fans being created everyday so we're putting out a product, virtually 2 hours of non stop action for under $10 when there's a lot of people that pay $40 for 3 hours, so in a month's time we're giving you more bang for your buck.

Jarretts' math is funny, the NWATNA ppv should be more like 20 - 40 minutes of non-stop action (with Loki and AJ Styles tearing it up, and if they let Shamrouk and Lynn go at it) for $10 instead off 30 - 60 minutes of non- stop action for $40, hey wait a second! Well i guess i can see a savings, 80 minutes of crap for 10 compared to 120 minutes of crap for 40.

quote:

Sad thing is, Sir O, I think only you and I know who I'm talking about.

The Destroyer is one of Japan's most celebrated classic wrestlers and Rikidozan was one of the most. I have'nt seen any off their matches, i know of them threw what i've read and seen online bout them. What's sad is that there are people here probably don't know who Ricky Steamboat is.:(

As for Francine she's still way fucking hot, check out her website.

If anyone can think of a decent Jarrett match please post it.

I guess there was'nt mutch to speak of.

Jarrett is'nt horrible or anything, his psycology seems out of place to me. First off his punches come off really weak and to make matters worse he does'nt understand how to sell a punch so his brawling is a big downer on his matches. When he does choose to use a submission like a figure-four leglock he never sets up by punishing his oppositions leg, so it seems really out of place.
All in all his matches are very predictable and boring to me, along with the "Slapnuts" dumb shit he gets on my nerves. Now im not saying he's the worst wrestler out there (by far), but i don't think he should be hyped as mutch as is.

This looks like a poster you would use at a local high school gym. How long before you think this league folds. XWF is gone and I guess WWA is gone because all of its wrestlers are in this league. i give it 2 months. EVeryone is down on the WWF, but they are still better than everything else, except for Japan (Right Sir O and S7even :-D), which no one watches. I will watch it just for the curiousity factor besides I get free PPV, but I think it will be a train wreck.

Bad news for the NWA. They are losing one of their main event players. That's right, Brian Christopher is dumping them and is holding out for a WWF contract.

Okay, Jerry's Kid isn't exactly main event material on the WWF, but he was in the NWA Royal Rumble for the belt. Hell, try and find the main eventer in this list:

Scott Hall, Ken Shamrock, Gran Apolo, Jeff Jarrett, Brian Christopher, Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, Konnan, Steve Corino, Rick Steiner, K Krush, Devon Storm, Vampire Warrior, Prince Justice, Norman Smiley

Maybe Ken Shamrock. I thought he was awesome back in the day. Scott Hall and Double J are Midcard-4-Life in my opinion. I know there are some Steve Corino fans on the board, but I never saw the attraction. I'd rather see Norman Smiley as champion before him. Don't know who Gran Apolo is, but I find it curious that they put him in front of Double J.

Shamrouk would make a great NWA champ, but he might not be around long since he wants to compete in MMA (probably Pride)
Out of Nash, HBK, HHH, and Hall, Scott Hall was always like the 2 guy and should have been champ along time ago. Hall should have been champ way before Nash ever was in any promotion, but since is so big (i mean size wise not in talent) he got put over more leaving Hall underused.
I agree about Jarrett, he doesnt have the prestege to be NWA champ.
Steve Corino is the best pick outa the list as champion, he's the only one worthy of the NWA title. If ya don't agree you obviously haven't seen any of his ECW or Zero-One matches. He's the closest to an NWA classic champion, he's not affraid to get busted up or put the next guy over... which is what all greats do. Plus he uses the classic NWA American Heavyweight Style so resembles what the title what built on; the elbow smashes, the side suplexes, and classic variations of the neck breaker. If their smart they'll put the belt on Corino. Damnit stupid NWATNA bring in HASH, give him whatever money he wants put him the ring with Corino and you'll have a chance to get major ratings...

Is'nt K Krush that K Kwick guy...

To quote Vince McMahon, I GUARANTEE, Jeff Jarrett will be champion. His father runs it.

Not only that, but Jarrett has thought for a long time that he was a main event contender.

Honestly, the guy has wrestling talent, but as for his mic ability.... even though "pissed-off Southerner" may be his real-life image, he's been basically the same guy for ten years, and frankly, he fucking bores the hell out of me.

Vince really say that?

If so, he should keep his fucking mouth shut, since he's the LAST person to make remarks about someone else's nepotism.

Jerry Jarrett may give his son the strap, but at least he hasn't ruined a goddamn Wrestlemania main event just so his bitch twat daughter can fuel her oversized ego.

I just checked my TV Guide, and there is no mention of any NWATNA for Wednesday June 19.

Typical Cablevision. Why would they ever come through?

Are we taking bets on who will cut the anti Vince McMahon/WWE promo on this PPV? When the WWA was around, Bret Crybaby Hart did one and Larry The Living Loser did one.

Anyone watching this tonight? $40 a month for a startup organization is ridiculous. If they wanted to put in PPV, they should have done $4.95 a week. Guarantee people not many will buy tonight just to see what it is and by next week, the buys will be at least half of what they were this week.

God, even the WWE would not put a ppv show every week. This is going to be a real mess. The only intrigue is they have 6 slots not named yet for that battle royale.

Seems like most of these guys are from the WWA. Is that now out of business?
