Wrestlingplanet.com and 4w-wrestling.com are both reporting that Steve Austin attacked his wife Debra.
Here is the Wrestlingplanet.com article:

Police were called to the home of WWE superstar Steve Williams, better known to most as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin from World Wrestling Entertainment last night.

Apparently Austin had attacked his wife Debra, but was not at the house when police arrived at approximately 4:00am.

Debra had a welt under her eye and bruises on her shoulder and back. She said things like this has happened before, but she was reluctant to call police due to Austin's celebrity status.

If this is really true then it sucks, Stone Cold is one of my favorite wrestlers, but I got no respect for a wife beater. Well, less ask for it.

None for now.

This is just fucking sad. The man gets the closest thing to fired (actually it's worse, he's not getting paid, not working, but also not able to join another fed if he wants because he breached his contract and now Vince has him by his ball sack) and is taking it out on his wife. As many men in his spot, he's gone from God to nobody and can't handle it. We've all seen thisstory before with other celebrities. I see where the Steve Williams story is headed, and I don't like it one bit.

Police Called to Austin Home Last Night

by Dave Meltzer

Police were called to the home of Steve Williams (Steve Austin) at 4 a.m. last night when wife Debra called claiming she had been attacked. Steve was gone by the time police arrived, and saw Debra with a welt under her left eye and bruises to her shoulders and back. She told the police she was reluctant to call because of her husband's celebrity status but that things like this had happened before. This was reported earlier tonight on the KMOL News (NBC affiiliate) in San Antonio.

San Antonio police would neither confirm nor deny the story because if it was true, they don't release names when suspects are still at large and no charges have been filed.

According to the police report, they were called to the house and found the alleged victim at the front door crying with a large welt under her right eye. She said that she had been hit several times on her back and police found bruises on her back and her right shoulder. She said this occurred after an argument and then when she called police, he left the house. Debra refused medical attention and told police she was very nervous about calling them because of her husband's celebrity status.

I'm waiting until I figure out a way to blame this upon HHH & HBK before I make an official comment.

Seriously, though, I fucking hate this. I mean, I'm all behind Austin in the leaving the WWF thing, and now he has to pull THIS shit. Way to screw the last few people who were supporting you, Steve. Good luck in divorce court, ass.

Has he even spent any time in jail? I read on PWBTS that Austin's still at large, and that at this time Debra's refusing to press charges.

im sure austin had to many 'stevewiesers' and after watching Confidential he got a lil(l-i-l) bit emotional and had to take it out on his wife, but dont worry, Eric Bishoff will save the day and get Austin out of it and Austin will be so grateful to him he will help Eric take out Vince,

wow it writes itself.

I can think of two "wife beater" angles the WWF has run before.

There was the Marc Mero / Sable angle, which had Sable sporting a black eye. But of course, she had the excuse that she obtained it when her horse threw her. Sure, right.

Then later on they had an angle with Chaz (of Headbanger fame) and his girlfriend, where he would allegedly beat her after losing in the ring. This angle only lasted a few weeks before being dropped.

Point is, the WWF probably would be low enough to turn this into an angle, cause they've done it before.

from www.prowrestling.com:

quote:

Thanks to kmol.com for the following:

World Wrestling Entertainment speaks out on wrestler, Stone Cold Steve Austin's alleged attack on his wife.

News 4 broke this story this weekend, professional wrestler; Steve Williams allegedly hit his wife, Debra in the face and back at their San Antonio home on the far Northwest Side. Mrs. Williams told police this isn't the first time it has happened and that she was scared to call the police.

Sunday, World Wrestling Entertainment had a response. They told News4 that this isn't the first bizarre behavior by Stone Cold. They say it started last week when he walked out of an event.

This is the statement by Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, Jim Ross. "He took himself out of the game. Vince McMahon didn't, J.R. didn't. Steve Williams took Stone Cold and flew him to San Antonio."

President of WWE, Vince McMahon says, "This is not a publicity stunt. This is something that unfortunately is sad."

In that case, it was revealed via GTV (oy, another great idea) that Marianna made up the whole domestic abuse story. Moral of the story: women are evil. G'night, folks!

And actually, WWF/E isn't the first to use domestic abuse as an angle. Back in 1988, Continental Wrestling featured a storyline that had valet Dirty White Girl claiming that her husband, Tony Anthony, beat the hell out of her after he was humiliated by Tom Prichard. As Prichard attempted to comfort her, Anthony attacked him, while DWG laughed and wiped off the fake black eye she was sporting.

It isn't bizarre, it's criminal. I've always been a fan of Austin's, but he should be locked in a fucking cage with all of the other cowardly wife-beaters.

Yahoo sucks. Just picture a baby flipping you off here.
