Don't ask me why, but that line followed by the wacky horn had me rolling on the floor. What can I say? I'm easily entertained.

Update on our boy, Vinny Ru. Look's like he MAY be already out! Man, I wish you people accepted my bet!

More On WWE/Russo Situation, Future In Question
Posted By Ashish on 06.22.02

Speculation has started flying that Vince Russo may have already left WWE. As reported earlier, Russo was part of a WWE creative meeting yesterday where everybody pretty much threw out ideas. After the meeting, many members of the creative team told Vince McMahon that Russo's booking style would not work. McMahon then made the decision to move Russo to another area of the company.

In the past, Russo has said that he would only return to wrestling if he had total control of the product, and many say that due to his recent demotion, he has already left WWE. Of course, that is far from confirmed and still speculation at this point.

"Far from confirmed?" When the hell has that stopped 1wrestling.com from acting like something is total truth before?

More On Vince Russo's Role With WWE
Posted By Ashish on 06.22.02
Here is a rundown of the Vince Russo situation thus far:

-Russo was hired this week to be the new head of the writing staff.

-The creative team including Russo had a meeting Thursday to discuss ideas for the company. After the meeting, many members of the creative team thought that Russo was not in touch with the current WWE characters. The feeling was not that he was out of touch with what wrestling fans want, but not in touch with the characters themselves. This was then reported to Vince McMahon.

-McMahon then decided to make Russo a consultant. Russo will, more than likely, work from home.

-Russo is not expected to be at the King of the Ring PPV or any TV this week and will not have any role in writing any future TV at this point.

Yes, boys and girls, mark this one down on your calendar - the WWF actually realizes IMMEDIATELY that they've made a stupid mistake and then rectifies it. Usually we have to suffer through their dumb ideas for weeks, if not months, before they get the hint.

I'm so gleeful that Russo is potentially gone I won't even rant about how this was all a power play by HHH & Steph so that Hunter could still maintain his control over the product.

He IS the FuHHHrer, after all.

As someone who used to write for Vince's official site, I hate when morons bash Russo by using examples that had NOTHING, or very little to do w/ him. Here's just a few off the top of my head;

1. Beaver Cleavage was Ed Ferrera's idea. I kind of liked it.

2. The stupid May young hand. THAT HAPPENED WHEN VINCE WAS ALREADY W/ WCW.

3. G.I. Bro was Bookers idea. Now, Vince shouldn't have used the idea, but it wasn't his and he killed it pretty quickly. Booker wouldn't be where he is now if it wasn't for Vince. I can say that for many current WWE stars.

The dirt sheet writers are jealous of Russo because Russo started out where they are and they know they'll never make it INSIDE the wrestling business like Vince did. That line about McMahon being his editor is shit too. Vince failed in WCW because management wanted immediate results causing him to hot shot, many wrestlers flat out refused to play ball and Standards and practices wouldn't allow him to do some of the things that made him so successful in the WWF. The fact that Russo was the head writer during the most successful period in wrestling EVER should mean something to Vince McMahon.

Wade Keller did it on the Torch site, but I'm sure many of you missed it, so I'll do it here. Vince wanted to stay w/ the WWF, but when Smackdown started Vince was getting burnt out from the extra work, so, he asked for a raise, can you blame him? McMahon didn't get back to him. Russo told McMahon he wanted to spend more time w/ his children, McMahon told him to hire a baby-sitter. McMahon never got back to Russo about the raise and since he wasn't under contract Vince got a better deal from WCW and he was allowed more time to spend w/ his family. What would you do? He didn't walk out on Vince, he gave him scripts for the next weeks Raw and Smackdown and left. He didn't give two weeks notice, but, do you think McMahon would have let him write for him knowing he was going to the competition?

As far as his role being reduced, this weeks Raw tied a four year low, how long until they come crawling back to Vince Russo? Brian Gerwitz, Stephaine, Michael Hayes and even Paul Heyman are proven failures at this point and their days are numbered. Steve Austin knew it and deep down Vince McMahon knows it, that's why he hired him back in the first place.
