O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | What is wrong with you people. You criticize and say the WWE will ruin him before you even see him. He wrestled a dark match on last week's Velocity tapings and he sounded like the rey Mysterio of old with the mask and doing the high flying moves that made him famous. Yes, the WWE makes tons of mistakes but they put on many entertaining shows. I agree a lot with jericho's statements that people are so negative that nothing they do is good enough. i thought raw was very entertaining last night and people still said it was awful. It is ok to criticize but at least see first before you make a statement. I have complaints with the WWE, but how would wrestling be without it. Don't talk to me about the NWA because that has a LONG way to go. I have followed the WWF/WWE from before Wrestlemania and they have had their good times and bad, but I have always stuck with them. I plan on sticking with them. I agree 1000% they need competition or they get complacent, but to compare them to the dark days of WCW is fucking ridiculous. Turn the fucking channel if you have so much negativity towards it. Because I will continue to watch it and for the most part be entertained.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | quote: Hartman actually has a very valid point. For all of their bullshit talk about the WW_ style (in JR's immortal words, "it ain't ballet"), the wrestlers ARE encouraged to tone down their style and ability. If you don't believe that, read some old Ross Reports where JR keeps talking about how RVD or Jeff Hardy could go far in the business if only they "take less risks". The WW_ style is generally toned down and slower paced. That's why you don't see the cruizers doing that many highspots (outside of Jeff Hardy, but he gets grief for it), or guys like Steven Regal working the harder, stiffer style to which they're accustomed too. For an example of how the WW_ cruizer style will probably be, look at the Helms / Noble match from KotR. That was NOTHING compared to what they used to do in the indies or in WCW. quote: Exactly, because WCW actually had some entertaining stuff at the end. One thing's for damn sure, their cruizerweight division, even in the end, was better than anything the WW_ will probably ever produce in that field. "Being a bastard WORKS." --Spider Jerusalem
