From Vince Russo's official site:

What can I say? When I received word from World Championship Wrestling today that my contact was going to be worked out and that I would be able to freely work on other projects I was estatic. It truly was one of the happiest days of my life. No more waiting, no more stress, no more sleepless nights, no more worrying. Finality--it was over. Never in my wildest dreams when I signed a contract with WCW some 18 short months ago could I have ever expected this--NEVER.

Eighteen months ago I left the WWF for all the right reasons. I left because at the time it was the best thing for me and my family. The move to Atlanta put my children closer to their grandparents which was important to us. And, as for me professionally--all I wanted was a new challenge. i felt that I had accomplished everything I set out to do in the WWF. We brought the ratings from a 1.9 to a 6.9 in just a little over two years. Where was there for me to go? It was time to move on and see if Vince Russo could make it minus Vince McMahon.

Through it all--I never regretted my decision--I'd make the same decision tomorrow. Life is all about growing, and moving to that next level--bettering yourself--all goals I thought I could achieve at WCW. NEVER could I have expected what lie before me.

As I sit here at old faithful--I want to make something perfectly clear--I blame no one. WCW and I were never on the same page--it was just that simple. Neither side wanted things to work out the way they did--it just happened. You live--you learn. The bottom line is that in the end, today, WCW did the right thing for me and my family.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved with WCW who was in Vince Russo's corner. From the office staff--to the boys in the ring. I will never forget the way those who believed in my broke their asses for me--night in, and night out. Make no mistakes about it--I was in the business for them. To this day I consider them friends and would give my left arm for them--they know who they are. As far as the other side of the coin goes--for those who wish to blame Vince Russo for everything that happened to WCW--Fellas, knock yourselves out. It tearing me down enables you to build yourselves up--then keep talking. The truth is those that matter know who Vince Russo was, what he did, and what he represents.

Now onto the World Wrestling Federtion. The truth is, the World Wrestling Federation was always my home. It hurt so much to leave--but I knew I had to. I want to also thank everybody in the World Wrestling Federation who I had the pleasure of working with--you have some very talented people there. But,most of all, I'd like to thank the entire McMahon family. I cared for Vince, Linda, Shane and Stephanie as if they were my own flesh and blood. The fact is--I still feel that way towards them today. it was special--so special. My relationship with Vince will never be repeated. It was an expierence of a lifeltime. he taught me more than he will ever know--and I can't wait until the day that we can talk again. God, I can only imagine how he felt on Monday night. To see his dream become his reality--it was a special night. You have to respect what he accomplished.

So, THE QUESTION--Will Vince Russo go back to the WWF? The answer is short. . .and simple--no. First of all, Vince McMahon doesn't need Vince Russo. He now owns the greatest, richest talent roster in the history of the business--you want to see ratings? You're about to see ratings. Secondly--it's just not the right thing for me. I don't believe in going backwards in life. I've been there, and I've done that, it is time to once again move on--grow. I'm a leader at heart, and in order to survive--I must lead. However, if the situation ever did arise where Vince needed me--I would be there for him, just like he was for me on so many occassions.

So, what will I "lead" you ask? Well, right now I have many irons in the fire--some in sports entertainment, some in Hollywood, but the important thing is--they are MY projects. Succeed, or fail I'm going to do them MY WAY--and that is what makes me tick. Life is all about taking chances--that's the difference between making it on your terms. . .or not making it on somebody elses.

In closing I just want to thank Gabby, and all of you you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea what your posts have meant to me over the past six months. I was just so thrilled that you "GOT IT". Believe me it doesn't take a sheet writer to figure out that all I was trying to do was ENTERTAIN YOU--PEROID!!!! Some was good, some was not-so-good, but if I put a smile on your face on Monday Night--even if it was for just a minute--I know that i did my job. I said it once--I'll say it again--in the end we are no different--just fans of the greatest form of entertainment on the face of this planet!!!

If you're ever going to remember me for anything--please remember me for this--you can get whatever you want out of life as long as you bust your ass, stay true to yourself and never give up. You can catch that dream--I know I did!!!!

he is just trying not to cry for his old job back. maybe if he kept the WCW belt off of him or david arquette he would have succeeded. it is too bad because he was the wrestling genius. he made wrestling great 2-3 years ago and now that type of drama is lost. we need more bra and panties matches or fake weddings or arrests. you know the good shit.

Yeah I find it funny how Russo is praising McMahon and his family and how he loves them so much, Yet he left them out in the cold, he didnt have the guts to resign to McMahon's face, and he went on WCW TV and bashed Vince and the WWF. He is trying to kiss McMahon's ass so that McMahon will give him his job back. NOT HAPPENING.

Yeah, Russo might have a chance at getting his old job back with WWF...if maybe he hadn't been a part of the friggin JEFF JARRETT CONSPIRACY!

Russo is a class act. Check out my columns (Mike McGinty) while you're over at Vincerusso.org, Froy. BTW, the worst thing Russo said about McMahon is that he was hard to work for, other than that, he always has been complimentary when speaking about McMahon.

i would normally say that Vince Russo was just dissing Vince McMahon as a desprate attempt to increase ratings but since he pulled that Jeff Jarret shit. it was definitely personal

Russo and Jarrett are friends, but Russo didn't have anything to do w/ Jarrett leaving the WWF. You want to blame someone for Jarrett leaving? Blame Jim Ross for telling Jarrett that he didn't have what it takes to make it to the top of the card. Would you stay? Russo wanted to put Jarrett in a program W/ Austin when he was writing WWF TV, but Ross and Austin wouldn't go along w/ it. Russo always believed in Jarrett, so I don't blame him for wanting to go where Vince went.

Actually, Russo was involved. The Jarrett-Chyna feud was supposed to end a month earlier than it did. Extending it to the next PPV was Russo's idea, knowing full well that Jarrett's contract was up like a day before then.

Just go get Chyna's book at the library, as the whole Jeff Jarrett thing was all I found worth reading.

It was nothing devious, though. Russo didn't plan on going to WCW, much less want Jarrett to go when he extended the feud. Like I said, blame Jim Ross for not recognizing Jeff's talent. As for Chyna's book, Chyna is a little delusional from what I hear, though I haven't read the book.
