O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01	What a great atmosphere here in Houston for Sunday's WrestleMania! The entire city seems to be buzzing with excitement and anticipation of Sunday's Pay-Per-View event in the Reliant Astrodome. More than 60,000 tickets have been sold and a crowd of close to 65,000 is expected for the extravaganza. One would certainly assume that the atmosphere in the Dome Sunday will be hot as a lot of fans have had their tickets and have been looking forward to this event for quite some time. On paper, the lineup looks strong with several matches having a legitimate opportunity of being very good to excellent contests. I am firmly convinced our group of World Wrestling Federation Superstars will raise an already lofty bar of performance for the most overanalyzed most critiqued Federation event of the year. Will the hype be justified? Will the advanced billing live up to expectations? Obviously, that's our collective goal and the verdict will be rendered before midnight Sunday night. I hope you enjoy this year's WrestleMania! The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin has all the makings of a very memorable Federation Title match. The chemistry and the issues are there. Should be excellent. The buildup for Undertaker vs. Triple H has been somewhat short albeit intense and entertaining. My gut tells me this one will deliver. I don't know how the performers in TLC II will top TLC I last year, but somehow I have the feeling that they will. Lots of thought is going into this one. My biggest concern is injuries. There's no reason Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle should not be an excellent pure wrestling match, even though these two do not have an established, long-term issue. Will be very sold if not spectacular. Lots of sizzle to the McMahon street fight, but the steak might surprise us, too. The WCW issue adds more drama to this one. Chris Jericho vs. William Regal is another chance for a very sound wrestling match. Regal has been very entertaining of late and Y2J is a genuine top hand. I like this one. The Hardcore Triple Threat match probably will not go too long but should be entertaining with all the "toys" at their disposal. I look for Kane to come up big here. Regarding Test vs. Eddie Guerrero, Guerrero has been waiting for this stage his entire career. Test is beginning to develop and evolve. Their issue is not white hot but this match should be very solid nonetheless. Chyna vs. Ivory will probably be relatively short and sweet and to the point. The Tazz & APA vs. Right to Censor six-man tag should be OK and entertaining. All participants deserve to be on this show. The Battle Royal is strictly for comic relief. It probably will go on third from the end, perhaps prior to Undertaker vs. Triple H and Rock vs. Austin. Entrants include: One Man Gang, Goon, Earthquake, Typhoon, Doink, Kimchee, Kamala, Hillbilly Jim, Repo Man, Nikolai Volkoff, Iron Sheik, Sgt. Slaughter, the Bushwhackers, Michael Hayes and Brother Love. Gene Okerlund and Bobby Heenan will be appearing at AXXESS this weekend. Many of us are anxious to see them again! There are no plans at this time for this talented duo past this week with the Federation, but never say never in this business. Rikishi will be not at AXXESS or WrestleMania due to his eardrum surgery. He's out probably another four weeks. Bob "Hardcore" Holly will be back in action in the next few days. Hardcore is good to go! Our promotional event Thursday at Fort Hood military base in Killeen, Texas, was simply awesome! Watch for highlights on TV soon. Thousands were involved. I can't tell you how great AXXESS looks! For any fan, this is a must-attend! There is so much speculation as to what WCW will do next -- the talent roster, TV plans, staffing, etc. Over the next two to three weeks, a staff will be assembled consisting of agents, referees, ring crew, ring announcers, TV broadcasters and, most importantly, the wrestlers themselves. The first TV taping is TENTATIVELY set for May 9 in Trenton, N.J. No list of names for this event has been determined as the new WCW talent roster is still being assembled. Agents could be named as early as next week. The initial talent roster will be finalized within the next couple of days. Hopefully, additions to the roster will be made over the next few weeks. The Federation's TV shows and the WCW TV shows will be kept separate with very little crossover, except for Shane McMahon's involvement. Obviously, someday intra-promotional issues will be developed, but not anytime soon and probably not even this year. WCW must be rebuilt and refocused. Positive changes will be put in place and young talents will be given the opportunity to contribute and hopefully to become the stars of the future. TENTATIVE plans call for a two-hour show on TNN Saturday nights from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., starting as early as May 12. There's lots of work to do, but we will get it done. There are several excellent young talents in WCW and some solid individuals behind the scenes who will help make this happen. It won't be easy and it can't happen in one night, but the rebuilding and re-branding of WCW will become a reality in time. It will happen. How's this for irony? The last live announcer voice to be heard on Nitro last week was old J.R.'s! Who would have ever thought that would happen? Sure as hell not me! I'm flying to Birmingham, Ala., for the XFL early Saturday to broadcast the Bolts vs. the Orlando Rage game on Saturday night, and then back to Houston immediately afterward for a little sleep and WrestleMania!
