Triple H vs. Steve Austin is planned for this year's summer pay-per view, SummerSlam. This time the two go at it, it's expected Triple H will play the babyface and Austin will stay heel. Apparently the WWF was again "testing" crowd reaction to a Triple H babyface as opposed to a heel, and if you ask me the crowd response was amazing. For the near future, it's been said the two might see tag-team championships.

Rikishi is expected back in another three weeks or so. As you know, he missed WrestleMania action due to eardrum surgery from a stiff hand he caught courtesy of Steve Austin back at SmackDown! a month ago. Haku has been in the complete dark since losing his Island Brother, but when Rikishi returns things are expected to look more positive for the Island duo of Rikishi and Haku.

Extreme Championship Wrestling is now officially done. ECW has recently filed papers through its parent company HHG Corporation. HHG is sending those papers to a New Jersey court for bankruptcy. The company should be official done this Monday. ECW, which stopped running shows in mid-January, is approximately $6 million in debt. As to whether they will have to pay their outstanding debts to wrestlers and companies, that is for the judge to decide. There is a great chance some of the wrestlers will never get paid the money they are owed.

Any future revenue for ECW, through video/DVD sales, CD's, etc., will go towards paying the debt to the wrestlers. Any company that purchases ECW will have the 6 million dollar debt carried over to them, which means we most likely have seen the end of Extreme Championship Wrestling.

That truly sucks. ECW changed the face of wrestling in so many ways, it sucks to see them go.

The thing is Skeet, Heyman works for the WWF now. So I think he will use his pull and try to get the ECW guys to the WWF. We can already see this happening. Heyman seems to also be working some angles. There is no way Vince would have came up with the Angle Benoit at WM. The shoot wrestling was awsome and it looked like Paul had his ahnds on that match. So in closing... ECW is dead business wise, but it will live through the WWF.

Its nice to have alternatives. Plus I have an addiction to rooting for the underdog. But there is now only one national wrestling promotion, though I'm sure another will pop up soon enough.

It's sad to see ECW go. The production values stunk and they seemed bush leaguemost of the time but they put on some really great shows. At least the wrestlers can actually make money in WWF

As long as every monday night, you hear Paul E yelling about something or other, ECW will live on.

WWF will never get the matches or heat ECW had??! Hey Tazza, perhaps you should consider laying off the crack pipe for awhile..ECW was a great alternative to the Big 2, and yes they bought a lot of new ideas to the forefront that the WWF and WCW later took for themselves..But to compare ECW and the WWF does not make sense..They were in totally different leagues..
