Was that Bret Hart that winked at the camera? Just wondering cause I'm too new to wrestling to know what he looks like and they made no mention of him.

It's like Teenweek said, you'd sooner see Owen there than Bret.

BTW, anyone else see the "Blue Blazer" sign behind J.R. and Paul E.?

I wasn't a really avid fan until recently (about a year ago) and I didn't really watch WCW so I knew "Who" he was but never had a face to go with the name. I now read anything I can get my hands on to help me learn better about where wrestling came from and who the past superstars were so that I can get some kind of idea of what you guys talk about.

I always thought Madonna was a religious icon (The Virgin mary) and Michael Jordan was a character in that Bugs Bunny movie.

Very commendable of you Wabaker to admit that you are a new fan and want to learn more about the history. I have been a wreslting fan for almost eighteen years and only in the last five or so years could I admit in public that I loved wrestling. "Hi my name is SonofaDEKE and I am a Wreslteholic. Hi SonofaDEKE" It is great that you want to find out about the history. I am not trying to upset anyone but I hate it when I talk to someone who says they have been a fan for a long time and then said "Ever since Stone Cold". I respect all fans and just wanted to say it is refreshing to find a new fan who wants to learn about where wrestling came from. Hopefully Vince will start a wrestling channel now that he owns the libraries of WCW and ECW and you can catch up.

Oh yeah, on a related note who are these Opie and Anthony that you speak of?

I think Opie and Anthony hosted some pre game show for the xfl, before it got canned.

I can't believe that vince reenacted the bret hart screw job, from the 97 survivor series......especially in front of the whole hart family. He just might be the cruelest man alive. Next to Opie that is! ;)

Could there actually be the slimmest of chances, that Bret Hart might actually return? I know the chances are less than slim and none. In front of the Hart family, Vince does the screwjob ending. JR announces when Chris Benoit put the sharpshooter on Austin that that is Bret Hart's move and the vignette on the King of the Ring, where they showed Bret hart winning it. I am sure they will show highlights of every King of the Ring winner, but it just seemed really weird that Raw was almost dedicated to Bret Hart last night.

I think a Bret hart return would be an even bigger story than the WCW invasion. He had such hatred for Vince, could he come back for a better goodbye than the crappy one he got with WCW. As I mentioned yesterday could he join Shane in beating the hell out of Vince and join his new WCW. It is interesting to think about.

Like they say, anything can happen in the WWF.

There is always a chance for anything happening in the WWF or in wrestling in general, but I really doubt this one. I don't know if Bret could even wrestle at all. After getting kicked in the head by Goldberg he was suffering from post concussion syndrome. I thought that if he could wrestle he would have wrestled for Stampede when it re-opened to try to get a big gate and help the federation survive. He also has nothing left to prove. He did it all when he was there. A farewell type thing would be neat but I just don't see Bret wanting to that. Not only is Bret angry with Vince but he is troubled with the whole wrestling business and doesn't like the direction it is going in. He was a traditionalist who believed in the heel being a bad guy and face being a hero. Also Bret was just as pissed with WCW for not using him correctly as he was pissed at Vince. Maybe he could side with Shane and say it is a new beginning. It does look like WCW will be the face federation in this battle but I still doubt Bret will ever wrestle again. If for some off chance Bret reads this I just want to say, "Please come back! Forget the shit in the past and show everyone why you are the best there is, was and ever will be!" But I doubt that will ever happen.

Sonofa, while I agree with you regarding Bret coming back being a great thing for the sport it won't happen. Not unless he goes to Stampede or maybe to Japan for a tour. He won't go to WCW or the WWF due to Owen situation more so than the business going in a bad direction. While Stu seems to have put the past behind him, Bret is siding with Owen's widow and wants nothing to do with the WWF...would be great to see him though!
