- Diamond Dallas Page is expected to be on the WCW side of the invasion angle that will culminate at next month's "Invasion" PPV. There is supposed to be a multi-man tag team match which will feature both WWF and WCW superstars.

-From this, I was thinking that maybe the WWF could bring back WARGAMES from the old WCW. This was the WCW equivalent of Hell in a Cell. A 2 ring match with a giant steel cage over it and with 4 competitors on each side. Say it is an 8 man tag match, who would you want to wrestle. From current storylines, I think this would make the most sense.

WWF= Vince McMahon, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, and Undertaker

vs

WCW= Shane McMahon, DDP, Booker T and Rob Van Dam

Or if you don't like Wargames, how else do you think they will make the multi man tag match?

I also hope they have at least one more inter fed match. I would love to see a Lance Storm vs Jeff Hardy Light heavyweight Title match.

-From this you can see that I think Jericho will win the title on SUnday and face Benoit at the PPV for the title.

I like the wargames idea teenweek, but I would rather see Lance Storm face off against Angle and eventually HHH. Personally and 8 man would be great, but try to keep vince out of the ring, I don't mind Shane O'Bump cause he can go, but lets replace Vince with a full time wrestler.

Skitch, with the Invasion poster, we saw where they are split faced, you know both Vince and Shane will be involved, so they both have to be in it.

WWF-WCW UPDATE

by Dave Scherer Updated: 6/21/2001 11:15:48 AM

This is a possible spoiler of sorts, so if you want to be totally surprised by the PPV this weekend, stop reading now.

As it appears now, it's very likely that there will be a heavy WCW influence at the King of the Ring PPV this weekend. The WWF has tried to keep it under wraps, but I have heard from a few sources that in addition to Dallas Page, Booker T and Buff Bagwell are expected to be at the show and will probably have on camera roles at the show. The Invasion angle, which will be the focal point of the July Invasion PPV, is, at this point, scheduled to feature a multi-man WCW vs. WWF match up. I expect that next week's WWF TV will start to plant the seeds for that show. There are meetings today at the WWF offices to talk about the direction of WCW.

The WWF/WcW angle will be cool but the need an ECW thing in there. Think of this poster 1/3 Shane 1/3 Vince 1/3 Paul E.

great idea, but never will it happen. ECW just closed up shop and wasn't purchased by the WWF...besides paul mentions the ecw guys enough that they are already involved in an angle like that of sorts.

This whole Invasion PPV sounds awesome. The 8-man tag would be great except for one problem. How are you going to have Angle, Undertaker, Austin, and Vince on the same team?? They would kill each other. And that poster for Invasion was so scary it almost made me shit my pants.

thats a really good point jerichoholic..i just kind of assumed that they wouldnt base the entire company around this one angle, so they would still have their feuds within the wwf..then certain wrestlers would be involved in the wwf-wcw angle. but who knows, thats the only thing that really makes sense to me right now.

Think of the possibilities, I mean that JR said that contract negotiaitons were in progress with DDP and he showed up, no one knew about it. We could see anyone come up, even goldberg. I know thats unlikely, but who knows, whatever Vince wants, he usually gets. It will continue to be agreat few months of tv.

Harry, what you are suggesting happen was what wcw kept saying needed to be done to "stop the nwo"...maybe you have a good idea and the wwf will stand together as a company first, then fight amongst themselves later on...

I always liked the idea of adding ECW into the mix. It would be cool if Tazz or Heyman started up their own ECW faction of guys like them, Raven, Rhyno, Stevie Richards and so on. It would give them the spotlight that the fans are hoping they get in the WWF without really racking up titles.

I hope the Invasion doesn't involve Vince wrestling. Even though he and Shane are a big part of the storylines, I wish they would just dedicate this opportunity as a chance to see the guys from WWF and WCW wrestle, and leave gimmicks like the McMahons wrestling out of it (unless Vince and Shane only wrestle each other).

And Tajiri, and Benoit, and Malenko, and Saturn, and Eddie Guerrero, and Mick Foley, and...

Good idea, but it'll never happen.
