| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | If anyone is interested, now, on Encore, is a documentary - My Generation, concerning differences between woodstock festivals in '69, '94, & 99 - for example how the lovefest of the 60's became the over commercialized event of 90's (to be followed by at 10pm EDT by "Woodstock", the movie/ record of the '69 event. If you've never seen the Hendrix performance, it is not to be missed)  | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | I think the best way to explain the differences in the generations is that for 25 years there was only one Woodstock, THE Woodstock. 25 years later two Woodstocks take place within 5 years. Woodstock is an EVENT not Lollapalooza. The narrator in Fight Club is the man we will be, Patrick Bateman in American Psycho is the man we want to be Eliza Dushku- Hotter Than Brittny | ||||

For example, Woodstock II, while being run by baby-boomers, became a severly commercial event - woodstock - eventually became a free concert (the promotors had a choice - they had either enough money to build a stage or fence/ticket booths, and they chose stage.) woodstock 2 - sold all sorts of crap, including official woodstock dogtags, and woodstock condoms, etc. woodstock - peace & love woodstock 2 - Teenage angst Henry Rollins on woodstock 2 - "I'll play here, but I won't stay here - I'm staying in the Marriot" | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | never again. i went to the woodstock in 99 & it was like the worst weekend ever. EVER! $4 for a bottle of water $6 for a freaking hot dog bun with 2 pieces of bologna not to mention the shit that was everywhere. i'm not talking about gargage (that was pretty bad too) but the actual shit that was all over the palce from messed up port-a-johns. they did nothing to help the kids out. i know the first one was all about the spirit & roughing it. but the following 2 had nothing to do with that. the kids were only there for the music & the promoters only for the money, so they milked us for everything. proud adoptee of Critics Love Snatch what's it going to be then...eh? | ||||
