O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Another sad passing and loss to the music world. While George didn't have the influence of Paul or John, he was an underrated guitarist (sp?), and helped influence the band - especially in the late 60's. He was also a true humanitarian who cared for others. (Yeah, I know about Clapton's wife, but we all know that women can drive men to almost anything). I don't know if people under 30 still consider the Beatles to have been as influential as I do, but considering their body of work over an 8 year period, they may have been the most influential music group of all time.

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | quote: Yeah and I am sur when clapton was asking her to marry him. Clapton knew she was also the wife of his best friend George Harrison. It's vice versa man clapton took her from harrison. But then again the age old question how do you steal someones wife? I'm Deep Inside Your Children. They Will Betray You In MY Name. O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | An excerpt from The Boston Globe 11/30/01 On the set of the Beatles' first film, ''A Hard Day's Night,'' Mr. Harrison noticed an attractive extra, a model named Pattie Boyd. They were married two years later, in 1966. By the early '70s, their relationship was fraying, and she became involved with Mr. Harrison's close friend, the singer-guitarist Eric Clapton. The result was what has been called the most famous love triangle in rock history; and the end of their affair inspired Clapton to write his song ''Layla.'' The Harrisons divorced in 1977, the same year Mr. Harrison married Olivia Arias. Pattie Harrison married Clapton in 1979 (the Harrisons attended the reception), and they divorced in 1989. The two men had remained friends (Clapton performed with Mr. Harrison on his 1991 tour of Japan) and took to referring to each other as ''ex-husbands-in-law.''
