Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Here's two (TWO!) for you: Hop a flight to Miami Beach or Hollywood. I'm taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River line- I'm in a New York state of mind. I seen all the movie stars in their fancy cars and their limousines, Been high in the Rockies under the evergreens, But I know what I'm needing and I don't want to waste more time- I'm in a New York state of mind. It was so easy living day by day Out of touch with the rhythm and the blues, But now I need a little give and take, The New York Times, the Daily News It comes down to reality-and it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide, Don't care if it's Chinatown or Riverside, I don't have any reasons, I've left them all behind- I'm in a New York state of mind. REPEAT 3RD VERSE I'm just taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River line- 'Cause I'm in a New York state of mind. New York City I saw a rainbow stretched across the ocean Crashed the Big Apple So I took a bite Found a taste I like But she bit me back I jumped across the ocean Found a Big Apple So I took a bite She teased me with a taste Laid my soul to waste Stabbed me in the back Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ I ain't never coming back Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ I ain't never coming back Pressure never stops Pressure never drops Lennon got fried Said it was a crime Said it was a pity No one even cried Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place I ain't never coming back Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place I ain't never coming back New York City, New York City New York City, New York City Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ I'm never coming back, no Disneyland trash can baby It'll give you a heart attack Times Square shuffle, Manhattan flip Twenty four hour groove Working up a frenzy baby People push on through One of Spitfire 421's adopted brats I am a victim of the science age, a child of the storm

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | New York City - They Might Be Giants You called me last night on the telephone And I was glad to hear from you 'cause I was all alone You said, "It's snowing, it's snowing! God, I hate this weather." Now I walk through blizzards just to get us back together We met in the springtime at a rock-and-roll show It was on the Bowery when it was time to go We kissed on the subway in the middle of the night I held your hand, you held mine, it was the best night of my life. 'Cause everyone's your friend in New York City And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see But the best thing about New York City is you and me Statue of Liberty, Staten Island Ferry, Co-op City, Katz's and Tiffany's* Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, The Empire State where Dylan lived** Coney Island and Times Square, Rockefeller Center Wish I was there You wrote me a letter just the other day Said, "Springtime is coming soon so why don't you come to stay." I packed my stuff, got on the bus, I can't believe it's true I'm three days from New York City and I'm three days from you 'Cause everyone's my friend in New York City And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see But the best thing about New York City is you and me 'Cause everyone's my friend in New York City And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see But the best thing about New York City is you and me. ----- E-mail: JustJon@opieanthony.com Adoptee: Baby Nicole & Napsky

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Hey KeeKee, here's one for ya... Harry got up Dressed all in black Went down to the station And he never came back They found his clothing Scattered somewhere down the track And he won't be down on Wall Street in the morning He had a home The love of a girl But men get lost sometimes As years unfold One day he crossed some line And he was too much in this world But I guess it doesn't matter anymore In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute Things can get pretty strange In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute Lying here in the darkness I hear the sirens wail Somebody going to emergency Somebody's going to jail If you find somebody to love in this world You better hand on tooth and nail The wolf is always at the door In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute Things can get a little strange In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute And in these days When darkness falls early And people rush home To the ones they love You better take a fool's advice And tak care of your own One day they're here; Next day they're gone I pulled my coat around my shoulders And took a walk down through the park The leaves were falling around me The groaning city in the gathering dark On some solitary rock A desperate lover left his mark, "Baby, I've changed. Please come back." What the head makes cloudy The heart makes very clear The days were so much brighter In the time when she was here But I know there's somebody somewhere Make these dark clouds disappear Until that day, I have to believe I believe, I believe In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute You can get out of the rain In a New York Minute Everything can change In a New York Minute

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Miami 2017 (Seen The Lights Go Out On Broadway) I've seen the lights go out on Broadway- I saw the Empire State laid low. And life went on beyond the Palisades, They all bought bright Cadillacs- And left there long ago. We held a concert out in Brooklyn- To watch the Island bridges blow. They turned our power down, And drove us underground- But we went right on with the show... I've seen the lights go out on Broadway- I saw the ruins at my feet, You know we almost didn't notice it- We'd see it all the time on Forty-Second Street. They burned the churches up in Harlem- Like in that Spanish Civil War- The flames were everywhere, But no one really cared- It always burned up there before.... I saw the lights go out on Broadway- I watched the mighty skyline fall. The boats were waiting at the Battery, The union went on strike- They never sailed at all. They sent a carrier out from Norfolk- And picked the Yankees up for free. They said that Queens could stay, They blew the Bronx away- And sank Manhattan out to sea.... You know those lights were bright on Broadway- But that was so many years ago... Before we all lived here in Florida- Before the Mafia took over Mexico. There are not many who remember- They say a handful still survive... To tell the world about... The way the lights went out, And keep the memory alive

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | More KK :) Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters Music by Elton John Lyrics by Bernie Taupin And now I know Spanish Harlem are not just pretty words to say I thought I knew But now I know that rose trees never grow in New York City Until you've seen this trash can dream come true You stand at the edge while people run you through And I thank the Lord there's people out there like you I thank the Lord there's people out there like you While Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters Sons of bankers, sons of lawyers Turn around and say good morning to the night For unless they see the sky But they can't and that is why They know not if it's dark outside or light This Broadway's got It's got a lot of songs to sing If I knew the tunes I might join in I'll go my way alone Grow my own, my own seeds shall be sown in New York City Subway's no way for a good man to go down Rich man can ride and the hobo he can drown And I thank the Lord for the people I have found I thank the Lord for the people I have found Closing song in The Warriors movie, a great urban-warfare cult classic of a film... In the City Somewhere out there on that horizon Our beyond the neon lights I know there must be somethin' better but there's nowhere else in sight It's survival in the city When you live from day to day City streets don't have much pity When you're down, that's where you'll stay In the city,oh,oh. In the city I was born here in the city With my back against the wall Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty No one's there to catch you when you fall Somewhere out on that horizon Faraway from the neon sky I know there must be somethin' better And I can't stay another night In the city,oh,oh. In the city Jeder oder Keiner, Alles oder Nichts

Yeah yeah...(yeah) Yeah yeah...(right now) Blue light on the avenue God knows they got to you An empty glass, the lady sings Eyes swollen like a bee sting Blinded you lost your way Through the side streets and the alleyway Like a star exploding in the night Falling to the city in broad daylight An angel in Devil's shoes Salvation in the blues You never looked like an angel Yeah yeah...Angel of Harlem Angel...Angel of Harlem...
