KING BLUES FESTIVAL 6:30PM On Sale Apr 28 2001 9:00AM Although most of the general public has been led to believe Mr. Brownstone is about some of the band members' heroin addictions (mainly from the disinformation provided by the band in order to garner street cred), the song is actually about Mr. Frank Brownstone, the head instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Los Angeles. In the late 80s, Rose was a student of Brownstone's (who do you think taught Rose his snakelike hip-swiveling?). Apparently, Rose did not pay Brownstone for the lessons. This song is about Brownstone's constant, yet futile, attempts at reimbursement. | ||||
