Saturday In The Park

Saturday in the park, I think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park, I think it was the Fourth of July
People dancin', people laughin'
A man selling ice cream, singing Italian songs
Eicay varee', eisee' nardee'
Can you dig it Yes I can
And I've been waiting such a long time
For Saturday

Saturday in the park, I think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park, I think it was the Fourth of July
People talkin', really smilin'
A man playing guitar A man, a song, playin' a song, they all
And singin' for a song Singin' for a song
Will you help him change the world
Can you dig it Yes I can
And I've been waiting such a long time
For today

Slow motion riders fly the colors of the day
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way
Listen children, all is not lost, all is not lost, oh no no

Forty days in the park, every day's the Fourth of July
Forty days in the park, every day's the Fourth of July
People reachin', people touchin'
A real celebration waiting for a song Waiting for a song
If you want it, really want it
Can you dig it Yes I can
And I've been waiting such a long time
For today, yeah, yeah, yeah

One More Saturday Night

I went down to the mountain, I was drinking some wine,
Looked up in the heavens Lord I saw a mighty sign,
Writt'n fire across the heaven, plain as black and white;
Get prepared, there's gonna be a party tonight.

Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey Saturday night!

Everybody's dancin' down the local armory
With a basement full of dynamite and live artillery.
The temperature keeps risin', everybody gittin' high;
Come the rockin' stroke of midnite, the whole place gonna fly.

Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey Saturday night!

Turn on channel six, the President comes on the news,
Says, "I get no satisfaction, that's why I sing the blues."
His wife say "Don't get crazy, Lord, you know just what to do,
Crank up that old Victrola, put on them rockin' shoes."

Uhuh, Hey! Saturday Night!
Yeh, uhuh one more Saturday night,
Hey Saturday night!

Then God way up in heaven, for whatever it was worth,
Thought He'd have a big old party, thought He'd call it planet Earth.
Don't worry about tomorrow, Lord, you'll know it when it comes,
When the rock and roll music meets the risin' sun.

"Some folks trust to reason others trust to might,
I don't trust to nothin', but I know it comes out right."

For the record, I am not condoning anything like this happening tonight. It's just the first song that popped into my head.

Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)

It's getting late have you seen my mates
Ma tell me when the boys get here
It's seven o'clock and I want to rock
Want to get a belly full of beer

My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
And my old lady she don't care
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots
A handful of grease in her hair

Don't give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Saturday night's alright for fighting
Get a little action in

Get about as oiled as a diesel train
Gonna set this dance alight
`Cause Saturday night's the night I like
Saturday night's alright alright alright

Well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight
I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right
I may use a little muscle to get what I need
I may sink a little drink and shout out "She's with me!"

A couple of the sound that I really like
Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike
I'm a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass

"What are you speaking? German Brian?
German! Jermaine! Jermaine Jackson! Jackson 5! TITO!"

Saturday Night

Seems like a dream now it was so long ago,
The moon burned so bright and the stars were so low,
And I swore that I loved you and gave you a ring.
The bluebird was high on the wing.

Whatever happened to Saturday night?
Finding a sweetheart, and holding her tight.
She said "Tell me, whoa tell me, was I alright?"
Whatever happened to Sataurday night?

The years brought the railroad. It ran by my door
There were boards on the windows and dust on the floor
And she passes the time by another man's side,
I pass the time with my bride.

What a tangled web we weave, go round with circumstance.
Someone show me how to tell the dancer from the dance.

Whatever happened to Saturday night?
Choosing a friend, and losing a fight.
She said, "Tell me, whoa tell me, are you alright?"
Whatever happened to Saturday night?
Whatever happened to Saturday night?
