Well, just about every band I listen to, but here's one you may like: INJECTED....saw them at Music Midtown in Atlanta- they're tremendous live-- they have a disk called "Burn It Black" (gee, wonder what they're all about LOL) that was supposed to be out in August, but according to this doesn't seem that way :(

Here's the bio from injected.net:

Injected
By: Mike Hawk

Does anyone remember when we formed?

The question meets the deafening silence and blank stares normally reserved for the Final Jeopardy question at an old folks home.

It's hard to get anything serious out of Injected when they're all together, one-liners and inside jokes fly with abandon. What I have been able to glean from them in our conversation is that injected has grown up together in the same small town outside of Atlanta, has played together for the better part of the last decade, and been each others best friends throughout. Together they have faced the usual industry challenges along with personal and spiritual conflicts, which ultimately have helped sustain their musical and creative output since the band’s inception. Signed to Island/Def Jam in the Fall of 2000 and looking forward to their early 2002 release of their major label debut, Burn It Black, it's funny how nothing seems as challenging for them right now as remembering the details.

It’s not really that important to us, says drummer Chris Wojtal, 26. Our focus during the whole life of the band has been on getting better and more musical, and you can’t do that thinking about the past, says bassist Steve Slovisky, 25

A really bad side effect of backward thinking with bands is this whole ‘bring back the rock’ mentality, says guitar player/singer D Grady, 25 That has really never interested us.

I guess you have to ask yourself if you believe in popular culture or you believe in what you get at the record store, continues Grady. If you read magazines and look at fashion, rock is something that became very un-hip and because of it’s kitschiness and irony was ‘allowed’ to come back into style. But if you’re anything at all like the members of Injected, however, you’ve been spending your time at the record store buying new albums from Quicksand, Failure, Toadies, Deftones, Clutch, Sunny Day Real Estate, Queens of the Stone Age, Fugazi, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool, the Refused, Radiohead, and on and on.

I guess saying that your band is going to ‘spearhead the resurgence’ of rock music is pretty arrogant, says guitarist Jade Lemons, 28 “You’re basically ignoring all those albums by the bands we just mentioned. I don’t think we’re gonna make that mistake.

Never do these guys make that more clear than on the album, Burn it Black, itself. Shifting seamlessly from all out metal violence ("Bullet"), emo-inspired subtlety ("Only Hurts Awhile"), to punkish arena rock ("Sherman") it's clear these guys embrace almost every type of rock n' roll. "We didn't skip school after Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin 101," says Grady, referencing some of his contemporaries "that stuff is great, but there's so much more out there that's happening right now that you can actually see and hear for yourself. You don't have to read about it in some biography written by a middle-aged ex-roadie."

What taste is left in the mouths of anyone who happens to get into a discussion with the guys in injected regarding music, and in particular, their music, is thoughts and ideas about the future. And their future is that of rock not limited by it's past.

Other greats: Abdullah, Wellwater Conspiracy (Eddie Vedder sings on a track), Beaver, lots of others that I doubt will make it big, but definitely have the talent :)

Behind every good man there is a woman, and that woman was Martha Washington man, and everyday George would come home, she would have a big fat bowl waiting for him, man when he come in the door, man she was a hip, hip, hip lady, man.

I've adopted FN, um, I mean Fuggin Moron into the School of Altered Reality...he's a little slow so be nice :)

Widespread Panic
& the list goes on and on...
They've all been out a while but won't go mainstream
cause mainstream sucks!

A NJ Punk/Emo/hardcore band SAVES THE DAY.
Can't Slow Down is a good album and they have made 2 more albums since the summer of 1998.

If anyone is looking for the bands that are listed here Vintage Vinal In Woodbridge NJ has a shit load of undergound stuff and is where I go for any CD I want to pick up. I love that store and Im glad that I dont have to travel into the City everytime I want to buy a CD thats not easy to find.

Oh yea!

Vintage Vynal is an awesome place to go. It has everything. I also recommend Crumudgeon Records in Edison, it's not as big but it's more convenient if you are a Rutgers student.

By the way how is the new STD album. I have Through being Cool, that album rocks.

These few bands are really good, and have been around for awhile, but they're not too popular or well-known:

Big Wreck (hard rock; lead singer Ian Thornley sounds like Chris Cornell)

Nature (really underground industrial electronic metal)

The Sundays ("folky" rock)

Unified Theory (former members of Blind Melon; lighter hard rock, yet not soft)

U.P.O. (grunge rock; resembles Seattle groups)

vintage vinyl is cool to go see bands play and have them sign shit (im going there this wed. for NJ Bloodline) but they can be a rip-off when it comes to buying cds. ive found that Compact Disc World generally offers the same selection from "obvious to the obscure" as VV does and their prices tend to be fairer, usually 11.99-13.99 for most single albums.....
