Initially, when you think grunge you think of Nirvana and the enormous impact they had but which band is your favorite? Personally, mine is Pearl Jam, with Alice In Chains running a close second.

Well mine is defintely without a doubt Nirvana but Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam i like too. jus not as much, not as much favorite.

Those are all great grunge bands, but I like lesser known seattle bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh. They are not as grungy but they are awesome to mellow out to.

Just a side note....King Buzzo (lead guitarist from the melvins) taught Kurt Cobain how to play guitar.

Faith No More was a grunge band? They came out in the late 80's.

Most early grunge bands formed in the late 80s. Nirvana's first album came out in 1989.
