| Hanger-On Registered: Nov. 01  | If Opie and Anthony were talented enough to beat Howard Stern head on, they would be the biggest commodity in radio. Wouldn't it make any sense, reguardless of what station they're on now, for them to go on the air in the morning, when people might actually listen if they cared to. You'd figure some station would offer them a lot more money to be the new biggest act in morning radio, than CBS is paying them to do a meaningless afternoon shift. Yet, the truth is, they will end up losing to nobody, because they suck and are no better than anybody else who imitates Howard Stern, or any better than an immitation of Survivor or Who Wants to be a Millionaire. | ||||

The other problem is that Howard himself doesn't want competition (but you should already know this from everyone else's posts). He is too afraid to go head to head with anyone that has a good show. This means that he is hypocritical pussy who is only getting good ratings (and they aren't that good anymore) because there isn't anything else on in the mornings. And do you honestly think that afternoon drive isn't a good slot for a radio show? If O&A were on in the mornings I probably wouldn't be as energized to listen. The show was made for afternoons, not mornings. It makes people forget about their day, not dread it like Howie's show does. The fact is that you will listen everyday and in about two months you will have a new screen name and you will be posting threads about how great the O&A show was and how much you love O&A and blah blah blah.  | ||||

They have NEVER had a girl get undressed and then point out her flaws (your tits are too small, you need to vacuum out the cellulite, loose 20 pounds,...). They do not have porn stars or other brainless "names" and just babble "You are so hot, if I wasn't married" because visuals work so well on the radio. What they do is appreciate anybody who comes on the show to add something, whether it is a girl with NOTHING to pluh who wants to show her breasts, to a guy with a case of beer who wants to hang out, to a fucking 14 year old geek who has ran a fan appreciation site. O&A are a FAN based show, not a SKIT based show. They rely on their FANS for the best lines, not their skits and the relative humilation of freaks/drop-offs/blondes. O&A hang out with their fans, have parties with their fans, drop a "Hi" on this FUCKING message board when they are on FUCKING VACATION!! No, O&A are in tune with their fans, Stern preaches from above. O&A are ripping off my best friends (and maybe Waynes Worlds), but in no sense, with the exception of being on the radio, are they ripping off Stern.  She tastes like a gyro. I loathe the Froy. | Hanger-On Registered: Nov. 01 | Maybe I've never heard of Steve Dahl, but I find it interesting that to be an Opie and Anthony fan, you have to keep the name of some guy who Howard supposedly stole material from handy. That's because of the few people who have heard of Opie and Anthony, most know them as one of the various shows that are trying to copy the success of Howard Stern. If this Steve Dahl had some original ideas that Howard uses, that doesn't change the fact Howard is funny and honest and Opie and Anthony are immitators with no talent. | ||||
