Remember, companies like Sony have varying interests. On one hand, they like the free publicity. On the other hand, they have to cover their ass with regards to other stations.

It's like pirate software,etc. If you and I can find where to get it, don't you think the corporations can? to a small degree, some companies turn a blind eye, and act as if it is shareware - people will buy some of the stuff, and word gets around. It is when it gets to large volumes that they usually get pissed.

On another topic (of fake radio), I love the Grand Theft Auto 3 fake commercials they are airing now.

So why are they playing this Breuer bit again? They are getting reeemed right now.

Remember when Opie said something about the higher-ups screwing with them? That probably had something to do with the stations dropping them and Opie being the psychopath that he is decided to piss off the company in return.

Like he always does. Only this time he may have bitten off more than he can chew. The Infinity lawyers already hate O&A. They always have and this certainly isn't going to help.

Will Sony actually sue? Korn is a huge band and it's not like the record companies play their marketing games for the fun of it. They actually think it affects sales and they are not going to be happy about this.

monocracy thinks it's horse shit because he thinks O&A are smart enough not to bring a lawsuit from Sony against Infinity.

I don't think they are that smart.

I hate to burst your bubble, but what O&A did on April 1, 1998, was quite possibly also fake radio. The company that fired O&A from WAAF, then sold the station, then rehired them on one of their stations in New York.

The information was pretty hard to find on the net, but i finally found it on the Federal Communication Commision's website at www.fcc.gov. The most informative document is at Visit this Website http://ftp.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Mass_Media/Orders/1998/da981012.txt ... it's pretty hard to get through, but here are the details i gleaned off of it:

It seems that sometime in 1998, CBS Broadcating planned to buy up American Radio Systems Corporation. CBS already owned 4 stations in the Boston market (WBCN was one of them, i believe). ARCS owned 7 stations in Boston, including WAAF. In order to meet the FCC requirements, CBS had to get rid of some stations in Boston. On March 31, 1998, CBS was hit with an antitrust civil action complaint. The FCC report was adopted on May 27, 1998, saying that CBS would get rid of WAAF, along with a few other stations, by Dec 31, 1998.

Now all those dates are just a little too coincidental. It's funny how O&A blame Dave "Dickless" for their firing, but the company that fired them is the same one that employs them now. Fake radio? ... you decide.

Did they actually talk about walking "Naked" down the street? I didn't hear them mention that one on O&A. Anyway, what does it matter? I hate Rocko's show, i can't stand to listen to it because it's so fake. Most of the one's i talked about are the one's they use for promos for Rocko's show, which they play all times during the day on AAF, which is probably why O&A have heard of them, too. If you want some older fake bits that Rocko did, i could mention rolling Birdsie down a hill in a barrel or attaching Birdsie to a giant bottle rocket. But that was when Rocko's show was only slightly awful, not mind-numbingly awful like it is now. And before, they were going up against Nik Carter, who must be the worst DJ on Earth ... so there weren't many other choices.

I find myself agreeing w/ Monocracy here. That "sneak-preview" bit is one of the oldest ones in the book. I've heard several other on-air personalities pull this old gag. Think for yourselves and don't buy into the O/A hype. Some of you sound as brainwashed as those idiot Stern fans!!

If Sony really wanted this stopped, they could stop it. In reality, the "leak" of the "rough copy" of the new Korn album is probably intentional.

And anyway, that whole Korn bit was stupid, and Korn's music is stupid. They sound like second rate Depeche Mode.
