| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | In the orange corner, we have the challenger. A pathetic one at that. They are the defending National League Champions, but now they suck and are 9.5 games out from the lowly pathetic Phillies. They have not won a World Title since 1986 and they got the smackdown layed on their candy asses in last year's World Series. They hail from Shea Stadium, in Flushing, NY, which is the biggest garbage dump of any stadium in baseball. They are wearing orange, white, black. They cannot even pick a damn uniform. There manager likes to wear disguises and sneak back into games and their General Manager trashes all potential free agents, please welcome your New York Mets. And in the blue corner, the 26 time World Champions and winners of 3 in a row and killed the challenger last year. They hail from the House that Ruth built, which is the most hallowed and best stadium in all of Sports. They have so many people who are in the Hall of Fame, they may need to just build a Yankee Hall of Fame soon. Their owner will do anything to win a title. They are wearing the blue and white Yankee pinstripes with the interlocking NY. Please welcome the greatest team in professional sports history, your New York Yankees. Let's Get it on!!!  | ||||

The fact is that if you had the phillies and the braves in your division, you (yankees) would be a few games back of them as well. The mets will win this series because it means more to them, and because they have more heart than the yanks do. Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum. :) | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | hey i think we all know that the METS got off 2 a slow start. but we are starting 2 get things rolling. the season is far from over. we still play all other teams in DIVISION @ least 12 times each. so we have plenty of time 2 get things rolling. & over the last 5 years the METS have 1 of the best records after the ALL STAR Break. so lets just see how we do in this series & how we do against the braves again next week. then each time we face the phills again this year. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Teen Week, fuck the Yankees. Fuck the Mets (Even though they are my favorite team). I'm going to be a bandwagon jumper and shift my weight to Seattle. Lets face it, the Yanks have no pitching. You may try to argue that they do, but really if you think about it, they have 1 good pitcher. And that pitcher has the fuse the length of Teenweeks dick. Small. He is Roger Clemans. The Mets are no better, they have one decent pitcher in Leiter, and one ok pitcher in Reed. Both can be knocked around easily. So Seattle it is, with Ichiro, Boone, Olerude (Sp?), Sealy (Sp?), and Martinez, they will win it all, and hopefully sweep the Mets in the World Series. One and two can be combined...he'd pitch if it weren't for them... The Mets bullpen is just awful...they wouldn't be able to hit the srike zone if it was the broad side of an 18 wheeler The Yankees...can't hit....they couln't it the ball if it was the broad side of an 18 wheeler... Not a chance in hell...especially not this year! All in all, it should be a good series...Just walks and strikeouts all over the place...I'm going to the series on July 8th or 9th...Bleacher Creature!!!! | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Figure we could start up ROund 2. I think the Mets have the same amount of wins almost as they did when this series started a month ago. I really think the Yankees will sweep this weekend. Mets are the laughingstock of baseball. Steve Phillips is a joke as a GM and Bobby Valentine is horrendous. Don't give me this injury bullshit, just look at the Red Sox without their best player in Nomar or look at the Twins talent compared to the Mets. The Mets are a bunch of underachieving losers. | ||||
