Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Ok I didn't know where to post this but I figured the most knowledgeable people would look here so here goes: I just recently bought a wireless router and pci cards in order to share my cable modem. When I try logging into IRC on my desktop with one of the wireless cards I'm autokilled each time because I don't have Ident installed. I never had this problem with my dialup service or when I just used my cable modem. I haven't tried the desktop that's hooked into one of the wired ports on the router yet but I'm figuring the same would occur. I read the page about it on dalnet.com and it really didn't help much. I have it enabled in mirc but it still doesn't work. Any advice? Thanks.

Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | Is your router a Linksys? Firewall? How is the firewall set up? Have you tested connected directly into the cable modem from different machines? Have you tested a second PCI card? Are you getting any connection to internet from machines outside the modem? If not, then you have to have your ISP release and renew your router. Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | I used to have that problem too. The easiest way is to open port 113 in your router. To do that open up Internet Explorer, type 192.168.1.1, go to advanced, fowarding, type in 113 chck those boxes (i don't have a linksys in front of me), hit apply, then you should be able to connect.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I have a Netgear MR314 router and Linksys WMP11 cards. I went into the router admin stuff and couldn't find anything that allows me to punch in a specific port to open it up. I figured that's what I'd have to do somehow but I don't know how. The actual internet connection is working beautifully(at least when the signal is good lol) I haven't tried getting on IRC on the other PCs which I am going to do but I feel it has something to do with only the router. I also thought it might be because I have XP Firewall activated on the PC but when I disable that I still get autokilled. I'm going to try to go through the docs to find a solution, if either of you guys could provide any more help that would be great. edit- Okay, I found port forwarding in the admin stuff. It has on top Default DMZ Server and then 3 columns underneath that say start port, end port, and server ip address with a bunch of boxes to fill in underneath. Any idea what I should put in? I figure my router's ip should be the dmz server or the server ip address but do I put 113 as both the start and end port? This message was edited by JimboSHU on 6-4-02 @ 12:54 PM

Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | Any luck with that? The best thing about configurations is that you can reconfigure it. If you just try 113 - 113 and it doesn't work, then try 113 - 118. The documentation didn't help at all? "Evil will always triumph, because good is dumb" This message was edited by Lord Slug on 6-4-02 @ 3:22 PM

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | IdentD is port 113, if you can get it open, you should be fine.
