| Psychopath Registered: May. 02  | With the exception of Load and ReLoad, a friend of mine was able to get every Metallica album on one CD. It was a regular 700meg capacity CD, and he played the CD and I was able to hear the songs. I thought that if the music file was in MP3 format, the program would automatically convert it into WAV format. Anyone know how he did this? I asked him, but he gave me the whole "A magician doesn't give away his secrets" routine. Does anyone know how this is done? | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I know when I burn CD’s I have the ability to choose if its going to be burning Audio Files or Data files. If I choose Audio it has to be in a wav format. In the Data file option you can have any file including MP3’s. Some of the radios that you can buy now can handle MP3’s for your car stereo. | Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | There are 3 things that you have to look for:
Some Burner programs will automatically change the format from *.mp3 to *.wav while it is burning. Others, you need to rip the CD into *.wav files (you can do this through winamp) or you rip the CD into mp3 (I use CD'n'GO!). If he was able to put all of the albums onto one CD, he is more than likely able to play mp3's in his CD player. Hope this helps.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 00 | He burned them as mp3's and was playing them on a combination CD/mp3 player. So basically he's got 700 MB of music on the cd, not 80 minutes. While you're at it, you should probably walk up to this friend of yours and punch him in the back of the head. He sounds like a real jackass.

| Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | This guy really does sound like a dick. If you don't have it already, take the Load and ReLoad albums and slash him in the jugular. As JBA was saying, you have to remember you need to burn the mp3's as a data file, not an audio file. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it. Maybe "friend" was a little strong. Acquaintance is more like it. I rarely see him, because he is the kind of person you can only handle in small portions before driving a coat hanger through his eye becomes more of an action than a thought. One other thing - is there a way to find out if my car stereo can play MP3's besides sticking a MP3 CD in it? | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 02 | Well, just for your info, my car is a 2002 Nissan SE-R Spec V. I got the 300 watt Rockford Fosgate stereo option with 6-CD changer. I'll try to make a quick MP3 CD tonight and see if it plays. Thanks for all your help guys. | ||||
