heard on WFAN earlier today that everything will be canceled till monday. thanks to barry bonds it seems all the games will be made up at the end of the season meaning the yanks will win their first world series ever in november. also the NFL and college football will be pushed back a week giving everyone an off week this week. This isn't all official yet, just what they said is being leaned towards.

To correct and/or clarify:

Bud Selig is leaning towards resuming on Friday and making up the lost series at the end of the regular season (pushing playoffs back). It might also be possible to make up another series and re-start Monday. But they gotta get the 162 in...

The NFL wants the games to go on, the players don't want to play. Stay tuned.

And in a bizarre move, the NCAA let individual conferences decide, so we'll see handfuls of college football games on Saturday.

I personally cannot wait until there's something else to focus on...

I don't know about the rest of you but a homerun on Monday won't mean anything to me..... I just don't see my enthusiasm returning to baseball right now....

i think it could really go either way. i
personally kinda agree with drkn2forget. it would
be sorta nice to see something on tv to get your
mind off what's going on for a little bit. then
again though i dont exactly think i could actually
get into a sports event yet. like monday is the
right time to start things again, but i think
it'll be a lot longer than that till people truely
get back to sports.

You have to start sometime. The recovery work at the towers is going to be going on for weeks. Are we to wait till then? I realize some will not want to watch yet, but that's your choice. MLB and the NFL are atleast giving those that want to watch a choice too.

When sports resumes on Monday it will have been less than a week since this terrible tradgedy...I would think that the players who didn't want to play on Sunday and were vocal about it won't feel the additional 24 hours is much better. Besides the fact that I think it is too soon to be returning to a total business as usual, what about safety issues in these arenas?

When I look at the targets these scumbags decided to hit, I don't just see people that they are going after. The Towers were the financial cornerstone of most of the world. The Pentagon, they were looking to crumble our government. They also said targets were America One and the White House. Obviousley for the President. So I don't think it was just people they were looking to destroy.

Then why hijack planes with people in them and why hit the towers when most people are already at work or getting to work? If they just wanted to ruin business, they could have struck during the wee hours of morning. Don't doubt for a second that these monsters weren't blood thirsty.
