Who do you think will be the NL MVP? or the AL Rookie of the year? The season is coming to an end so i figured why not see what everyone on OA.com thinks. A year filled with so many records being chased and broken, henderson breaking cobbs run record, ichiro breaking shoeless joe's rookie hits record, bonds closing in on Macs HR Record and breaking ruths walk record, Puljous breaking the total base record and going for Macs Rookie HR Record, and the Mariners chasing the AL win record. Plus we say goodbye to two of baseballs greats Tony Gwynn baseballs most estimed gentleman with a .338 lifetime BA and Cal ripkin jr. with baseballs iron man record.

American League MVP: Well A Rod has had an amazing year setting the short stop record for homers with 51 now. But i feel that the MVP should be a mariner because no matter how many homers A Rod hits his team will not make the post season. My two picks would be either Ichiro or Boone, but do not count out Jason Giambi who is in the top 5 for BA, HR, & RBI's. But my nod would have to go to bret boone who is having an amazing year. Batting .334, 35 homers with 137 RBI's.

National League MVP: Who else? Barry Bonds the guy will probably end up breaking the Home Run record in less at bats than Mac with a better BA, more RBI's and his team is going to post season play. Barry is hitting over .320, 69 homers, 133 RBI's with a .510 on base pct. He has already broken the walk record so no one stands a chance no matter how impressive sosa's numbers are.

N.L. Cy Young: Well, whoever it is he wears a Diamondbacks uniform. Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling. The big unit has the edge cause of another strike out tile but Schilling isn't out of it.

A.L. Cy Young: Yes, teammate Mike Mussina has just as many quality starts, and a virtually identical ERA. And yes, seven others have lower ERAs. But Roger Clemens is 16 games above .500, and is going to add another onto his record total.

N.L. Rookie of the Year: One name Albert Pujols
37 homers, 129 RBI's, .333 BA and this is a ROOKIE!! he is 3 shy of breaking Macs rookie homer record and he has set the rookie record for total bases.

A.L. Rookie of the Year: This was tied up many months ago we all know Ichiro will win, but is he really a rookie?

N.L. Manager of the Year: I really have no idea on this one it could be several people but I really have no pick here no one has really stood out.

A.L. Manager of the Year: Who else? Can there be a doubt? Lou Pinella in a landslide larger than regans 84 re-election results.

AL MVP Giambi..the two Seattle guys will take each others votes
NL MVP Bonds...With Gonzo finishing second

AL CY YOUNG Clemens...just cause Mulder and Hudson have slipped off
NL CY YOUNG Schilling/Johnson should be close but I'll take Randy

AL ROOKIE Ichiro, with Soriano finishing second
NL ROOKIE Pujols...But if Roy Oswalt would have played all year.

NL MVP Bonds...With Gonzo finishing second

Aww thanks GW I know I am great but I think Bonds deserves it.

But numbers wise i think Sosa will finish second.

Pretty amazing when a guy with 61 homers over 150 RBI's and batting over .320 doesn't get the MVP imagine 6 years ago.

McGwire popped 49 his rookie year - he gave up the chance at 50 to be at his son's birth. NL is Frank Robinson?

MVP
AL - Jason Giambi - He is spearheading the amazing run the A's are currently on. As hot as the Mets run is - the A's have been on a longer protracted one.

NL - Toss up..Luis Gonzalez/Barry Bonds

Cy Young
AL - Roger Clemens
NL - Curt Schilling

ROY
AL - Ichiro
NL - Puljols, plus he plays 4 positions and it doesn't affect his bat

Manager - EHHH

Since the picks are in except the MVP's just figured might as well see how we made out on picks.

Pretty much all of us picked clemens as al cy young award winner, and pujols and ichiro winning rookie of the year honors. Shilling and Johnson were top picks with Johnson actually winning. All of us had pinella as manager of the year without a doubt.

Alls that's left is the NL and AL MVP awards.
