I heard on Sterling and Kay the other night that Manny had threatened to walk out of camp if manager Jimmy Williams forces him to play left field. Way to fit in with a new team that is paying him a 160 million. What a head case. Nomar is hurt. Sox going down the tubes. I love it !

Mannys not a head case you tool. he just asked Jimy to put him back in right field cause he felt more comfertable there. He was never going to walk out. Nomar's in a cast for 2 to 3 weeks but hopefully after that it will be a quick recovery. There is a good chance he will miss very few or no real games at all. Sox arent going anyuwhere you stupid F, youll see that in October when we kick the yankees ass!!!

This is a misadventure waiting to happen. Ramirez is not the 'greatest' fielder so you have to take the lesser of 2, TWO evils. You either have him play catch with the Green Monster, or kill himself along those short walls in right. They got him for his bat, not his glove.

Yup, we know he sucks at fielding. Both the left and right field at Fenway are no walk in the park. Hopefully after a while he can "adjust." His bat wasnt doin too good the first couple games, it took him like 4 games to get his first hit.

I hope the Sox crush the Yanks this year. manny is a machine and I'll expect he'll get better stats than AROD.

I want REMATCH of '86. mookie wilson still hoping to win it for NY, 3-2 the count...and a ground ball trickkllling, it's a fair ball gets by BUCKNER!!!

Ha Ha BostonFan, you took the bait.
Who do you think is a better choice to patrol Fenway's vast right field? Nixon or Ramirez? Nixon, he's the better fielder, right? So if Manny really cared about stepping up and helping the team, he would be willing to adapt and play catch off the Green Monster. My point, therefore, is that he is a selfish head case. I bet the Red Sox clubhouse is going to become a really comfortable place with Manny and his entourage. Reports are they are already getting under the other players' skins.

The story I heard and read on ESPN.com said he was in fact going to walk and he has caused Williams to lose face once again, and the season hasn't even started yet.

Sorry if I hit a nerve. Pace yourself, it's going to be a long season. We'll have plenty of time to go back and forth.

Damnit why didnt that guy's post show up before my first reply. Anyway, I heard he is very down to earth for being such a good player and hes never cocky. Its understandable that if hes not a good fielder to begin with, why would he want to move to left field. granted, it may be a little easier for him yet his natural tendency is right field. All players would prefer to be in their natural position, and jimy had to cave because theres no sense in pissing him off before the seasonn begin. Not a nerve, but manny isnt a head case.

carl everett's a douchebag. when he was on the mets there were allegations he beat his wife and kids. Plus how the hell did he become an allstar? he absolutely sucked on the mets.

Williams said it himself,He's got 1 year left on his contract,And Manny just signed for big bucks. So Williams hands are pretty much tied up in the matter. And after seeing what happened with Alecantra? last year, The duke is gonna pull jimy williams strings all year long..

So, the Sox are going somewhere this year but they gotta rely on David Cone to pitch big innings for them? Am I the only one who sees the problem there? Oh, and there are rumors that Garciaparra is hurt alot worse than it appears. And please, dont give me the Sox's spiel that their pitching coach is a "miracle worker". Jesus Christ couldnt turn Cone into a good pitcher anymore.

2 months is what I heard for Nomar when I started this thread.

Now as for Cone. In order to be effective he needs his fastball to be around 87 mph. If he doesn't have that then he is toast. If he has got it he could have a decent year. Reports are that he is in much better condition than last year. So his fastball might be there.
