NFL BREAKDOWN- WEEK 6- OCTOBER 18,21,22, 2001

Buffalo Bills (0-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2)
This is not exactly an epic collision on Thursday Night but one that has a chance to be more competitive than one might think. The Jags started off the season looking good at 2-0 with victories over the Steelers and Titans. But then a bad loss at home to the Browns, followed by a loss in Seattle has the Jags back to .500. The Bills are one of the worst teams in the AFC and the NFL for that matter and thats not going to change. However, I feel the Bills are good enough to stay competitive with the Jaguars. They probably wont win the game, but I would take them getting 9 points in the spread.
SCORE: Jaguars 19 Bills 13

St. Louis Rams (5-0) at New York Jets (3-2)
Amazingly enough the Jets have played just one good half of Football in 5 games and find themselves tied for 1st place. Unfortunately for them, the best team in Football is heading their way this week. The Jets have two victories this year where they played awful and won the game. This is a game where the Jets could play great and lose. I think the Jets will compete with the Rams and make this one a tight game. If Faulk does sit out, that will be a major advantage for the Jets, because if he does play, the Jets defense cant stop the rush and Faulk would have a field day. I give the Jets a shot to win this game, but not a very good one. They may keep it competitive. One thing is for sure, if they give a lousy effort like they have shown numerous times this year, this one will get ugly.
SCORE: Rams 33 Jets 26

New England Patriots (2-3) at Indianapolis Colts (2-2)
3 weeks ago the Patriots shocked the Colts by not only beating them up in Foxboro, but humiliating them. The Colts are out for revenge and this one should get ugly. The Colts have gone awhile in between wins, and are coming off a tough loss to Oakland last Sunday Night. The Patriots are running into a very good football team that is hungry for a win and hungry for revenge.
SCORE: Colts 38 Patriots 13

Baltimore Ravens (3-2) at Cleveland Browns (3-2)
The AFC Central is shaping up to be the most competitve division in Football, and that is due mostly to the suprising starts of both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. The Browns have been tough at home and I expect them to be tough again this week. This should be a strong defensive battle, in which turnovers may decide the game. The Ravens are coming off a sloppy loss to the Packers in which they uncharacteristaly gave up 31 points. I think the Ravens will win the game, but the Browns are a scrappy football team and they will hang in there.
SCORE: Ravens 17 Browns 13

Carolina Panthers (1-4) at Washington Redskins (0-5)
The Nation's Capitals plays host to this awful Football game. The Panthers looked like they were showing signs of sneaking up on people after upsetting Minnesota in Week 1. Since than its been 4 straight losses, and everybody knows about the Nightmare start Washington has been off to. Well I guess its finally time for the Skins to win a game. They should have beaten Dallas on Monday but a late turnover did them in. The Skins should scrape out the victory here at home against a team that is not much better than they are.
SCORE: Redskins 20 Panthers 13

Chicago Bears (3-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-2)
This is surprisingly one of the better matchups of the week, as originally this would be considered one of the worst matchups of the week. The Bengals have all 3 of their wins at home this year and are undefeated there. Meanwhile the Bears have won 3 in a row, and their lone loss was opening week at Baltimore in which they were very competitive. The Bears are going to turn some heads this year and are going to make a playoff run. In order to do so, they need wins like this against teams they can beat. I cant see the Bengals being a 4-0 team at home, I see the Bears sneaking out a big win in Cincinnati to go to 4-1.
SCORE: Bears 16 Bengals 13

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) at Tampa Bay Bucs (2-2)
This should be a solid game between two good football teams. The Steelers played terrible in Week 1 against Jacksonville, but have capitalized on a weak schedule since to be 3-1. The Bucs are coming off a tough Overtime loss last week in Tennessee. Although the Steelers are a good football team, the Bucs are better and more balanced. It should be a good battle between two good defenses and a low scoring game, but the Bucs really need this win to stay in striking distance of Green Bay for the division lead.
SCORE: Bucs 20 Steelers 7

Tennessee Titans (1-3) at Detroit Lions (0-4)
Is Tennessee ready to start making their run? Are the Lions the worst team in Football? The answer to those questions may very well be yes. The Lions have been just awful even though they did put up a fight in a loss last week in Minnesota. The Lions struggles should continue this week, they may put up another fight again, but Tennessee is a hungry and angry team looking to get back into the thick of things in the AFC Central.
SCORE: Titans 28 Lions 14

Denver Broncos (3-2) at San Diego Chargers (3-2)
After a 3-0 start, the Chargers have come back down to Earth with 2 straight losses. The first 5 opponents for The Chargers have been the Redskins, Cowboys, Browns, Bengals, and Patriots. Not exactly a tough slate. Well it gets a bit tougher this week with Denver coming in. Denver got embarrased last week by Seattle, and will be looking to redeem themselves this week. I feel they will and will have little trouble beating the Chargers.
SCORE: Broncos 30 Chargers 16

Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) at Arizona Cardinals (1-3)
Not exaclty a stellar matchup here in the desert. I however feel the Cards will win this game that could go either way. The Cards are just as good as the Chiefs and are at home and have shown better signs of hope during the year than the Chiefs have.
SCORE: Cardinals 16 Chiefs 14

Green Bay Packers (4-1) at Minnesota Vikings (2-3)
This is an excellent oppurtunity for Green Bay to bury Minnesota. They will crush their hopes of catching Green Bay and put a dent in their hopes of making a playoff run. Green Bay showed me something last week by handling Baltimore, and now I feel they are ready to make a name for themselves as a legit Super Bowl contender. The Pack have always had their troubles in Minnesota, but not many times have Green Bay been this much better than Minnesota. Green Bay wins it here.
SCORE: Packers 24 Vikings 13

Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) at New York Giants (3-1)
A criticial NFC East Divisional Matchup here between the Eagles and Giants on Monday Night. The Eagles really shot themselves in the foot losing to Arizona at home a couple of weeks back. The Giants have had the Eagles number and I dont expect that to change on Monday Night. The Giants are better a team, are at home, and have Philly's number. Those 3 combinations equals a Giants win on Monday Night.
SCORE: Giants 23 Eagles 14

Not bad pretty close.

By the way I forgot to do the Saints-Falcons game.
I had predicted the Saints to win 30-14, so I didnt do too good on that one. After 3 straight very good weeks for myself, Im having an off week this week, but not my fault, alot of upsets.
