During the 8th inning, when the game was officially entering garbage time, the Bronx faithful were chanting the following, in no particular order:

"We Want Nelson" (Jeff Nelson, former Yankee reliever now with Seattle, who once said the Yanks would regret not bringing him back)

"No Game 6" (obviously, much to Lou Piniella's dismay)

"Louuuuuuuu" (guess who)

"Jor-ge!" (a la Ole!)

And of course, the ever-appropriate:

"Na na na na, hey hey, goodbye"

No, they're not drunk on Bud or Miller: they're drunk on enthusiasm.

Since I was there I will fill you in on a few things you missed:

There was the fact that at one point the WHOLE stadium was chanting "Jor-ge" and it looked like we were bowing...

There was the "No game six" chant

The ever popular "Arizona"

The "Soriano"

and my personal favorite although not a chant, the sign that read: "Winless in Seattle"

the 4 best chants were the Jorge chant, the A-hole chant after Spencer almost got nailed in the head with the ball, and the Na na na na chant at the end of the game. But i hate the fact that the commentators didnt acknowledge some of em.

It's all part of the Yankee experience. I found myself chanting along at home watching the game. As many as i could figure out, some were inaudible throught the TV.

I was there last night, too. It was fucking awesome! The chanting was hysterical, especially "Jorge!"

My personal favorite was "OAK-LAND'S BETTER." Because let's face it, they were.

And it was the first time since the '96 run began that I heard the Yankee Stadium crowd sing "New York, New York" in complete and total unison. It was really special.

Its not kissing ass if u give say that the crowd is going nuts and doing chants. i mean, granted u cant say some of the stuff on TV that the crowd was saying, but i mean comeon, at least make some note of it.

They may have not repeated what the people were chanting but they did make a note of it even if it was a vague note. Besides I think fox probably tried to blur the sound on most of the crowd so you couldnt hear what was being said to clearly. Besides do u think Mr. Yankee Hater Tim Mc Carver is gonna talk about the yankee fans...Get real.
