The following are the Bowl Championship Series college football ratings:

(Through games of November 24)

1. Miami 2.92
2. Florida 6.95
3. Texas 8.77
4. Nebraska 10.48
5. Oregon 10.87
6. Tennessee 11.87
7. Colorado 18.06
8. Illinois 20.45

After today, how the fuck do you diagram all of this. To steal a line from Lewis Black, you take a pencil, sharpen it, and stick it right in your temple. I was hoping that Chris Simms and Texas could somehow make it to the championship game, but Chris had the worst game of his career. I feel really bad for hjim, but he'll be back next year, better than ever. Major almost bailed them out, and that game turned into one of the most exciting games ive ever seen.

Miami almost blew it, and shouldve, against Va. Tech, Florida lost to Tennessee, and Oregon barely won. The Heismann race also got very clouded, as NONE of the favorites really had a good game, except for Grossman, who lost. I really dont know who id give it to, probably Crouch because he has the best stuff (it wasnt Crouch's fault that Colorado scored 62).

I am rooting for LSU to win next week to prove once and for all that the BCS is a joke so that they can get rid of the whole system and install a new playoff system. Because if Tenn. loses, Nebraska will be in, and they dont deserve it at all.

just think how fucking great a playoff system would be. take the top 8 teams in the bcs and do a 3 week playoff. I mean, imagine the games if the season ended today:

1. Miami vs. 8. Illinois
2. Florida vs. 7. Colorado
3. Texas vs. 6. Tennessee
4. Nebraska vs. 5. Oregon

how fucking sweet would that be?? i'd watch all those games, wouldn't you? a playoff system would create some of the most fun football for the fans ever.

They would not even have to add but two weeks to the schdeule they could use the four big Bowls Rose, Fista, Orange, and Suger, and then have the winner face eachother in a final four type game, and have a then winner from that play for the NL title...

Anything at all based on a who-beat-who scenario is bound to be open to a Nebraska-esque glitch. The prime example is college hoops- every year, you can take the NCAA champ or the #1 team, and build a scenario that has Yale or Prairie View as the best team in the land. ie- Yale beat Brown who beat Providence, etc...
A solid playoff would work. Take the BCS and maybe give a selection committee discretion for the eight and maybe seventh slot.

Although Colorado (10-2) finished ahead of Nebraska (11-1) in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN coaches polls and routed the Cornhuskers 62-36 three weeks ago, it wasn't enough.

Nebraska barely edged Colorado for the No. 2 spot in the final Bowl Championship Series standings. Miami was first with 2.62 points, Nebraska second with 7.23 points, Colorado third at 7.28 and Oregon fourth with 8.67.
0.05 decided who got to play for the natoinal championship. That is pathetic.

Hopefully we'll get split national champions this year to help the fools at NCAA to realize how stupid this is.

Even a 4-team playoff is acceptable compared to having .000005 decide it!

last year, because I hate Miami, I didn't call College Football a fraud sport. They did get screwed though. This year is even worse. I hope Colorado smokes Oregon (the better of the 2 games) and Nebraska edges Miami so there won't be a true national champion. There is really no reason to watch college football until they get a play off system. All the great games this year, especially the last two months aren't worth shit. College football and the BCS are a sham.

Good, Im glad this happened. Then maybe they will finally wake up and get rid of this BCS crap. Wake up and play some playoffs.

But that would make too much sense so it will never happen.

it's topical

i thought oregon was ranked 2nd. and doesn't their win today give them some kind of a claim to the title? how many years do you think it will be until they figure this shit out? also, while i was watching the gator bowl today (go noles) they mentioned that in all fairness syracuse should've been in it, but va tech brings in more ticket buyers so they were picked. i know i'm not the only one who has a problem with this.

Oregon only gets a share of the title (Associated Press version of it) if Nebraska beats Miami. Miami was the only undefeated team, so they will win outright if they beat Nebrasjka.

What do you expect from a system that lives off corporate sponsors? It's because of Tostitos, galleryfurniture.com, etc that there is no playoff system. For that reason, as well as the fact that none of these games mean anything, I refuse to watch any of these games.
