If they get the #1 pick they will probably look to find some washed up old guy and trade the pick away.

I don't think they have enough money under the cap to afford the number 1 over all pick so they would probably pick and trade, trade down for more picks .

The Knicks actually have a pick this year? They didn't trade it away in a throw in with Chris Dudley or Glen Rice?

Thanks to Brokenjaw for the sigpic

Moss should have given the ball to his coaches to spike, or at least invited them onto the field to take part in the celebration, because they were the ones who made that score possible. But don't tell that to Randy, it would only take away from the glory he believes he deserves for being as great as he is. Click here for the whole article

Theres a Rookie Salary Cap and you have more freedom to sign your own players so that wont be a problem.

The problem is that if the Knicks got the #1 pick, Scott Layden would probably draft Yao Meng out of China so that he can be the second coming of Frederick Weiss, instead of drafting Jason Williams.

On the upside if the NBA only played 3 Quarter games, or had a mercy rule where if you have a 15 point lead the game is over. The Knicks would be one of the best teams in the NBA.

You could stop right there; I have little confidence in anyone Layden drafts. If he drafted williams, I'd suddenly wonder what was wrong with him.

Do you think Stern will fix the lottery for the Knicks this year like he did when they got Ewing?

no doubt. The NBA is not going to live with its team in the #1 media market sucking. That being said, I don't think a #1 pick could even save the Knicks now. I don't think they'd get THAT much better.

If the Knicks are going to build around a draft pick, than they need a head coach! Dick ain't the man, damnit! We don't need a BEARDED BASTARD coaching Jason Williams.Hopefully the Knicks won't trade their pick, and he'll turn the team around like Kidd did in Jersey.

do you all really think jason williams is that good? granted he's probably the best player coming out, but i see him as a notch below an allen iverson or steve francis. theres just something that makes me think hes not THAT good.

Hopefully Frederic Weiss will reenter the draft this year and the Knicks will draft him again.

Well, at least now it's official.
From Yesterday's (3/7) NY Post.

"We'll put all our energies into trying to rebuild the team," Dolan said

This team is so bad, it will take TWO lottery picks and salary dumping to get back to where they were in 90's.

Let me correct that - with Scott Layden in charge it will take at least FIVE lottery picks, some luck, and some fixing by David Stern for Knicks to get back to where they were.

Bring back Hawthorne Wingo.
