I can't remember this morning who he did it to on the Rangers, but he gave a hipcheck to one of the Rangers best players(See Francine Banger for player's name) and injured him and it cost the Rangers of what could have been a stanley cup year. Ever since than it has been a Rangers tradition just to chant Potvin sucks whether they play the Islanders or not. It is not done as much anymore since they won the cup in 1994. edit*** I may be wrong, if I am you can call me a tool, but I think it was when the Rangers beat the Isles in 1979 in the semifinals of the playoffs. edit**** I started following the Rangers in the early 80's when the Isles were beating them in the playoffs, year after year.
