I can't believe this I know he played really well towards the end of the season, but come on, Kidd deserves it more.

Can I help you? E-mail me.

I know the playoffs dont mean nothing for MVP but you want proof as to why Tim Duncan is the MVP.

San Antonio vs. Seattle, Game 3 the Spurs beat the Sonics by 30 points when Duncan played. Duncan didnt play Game 4. and they the Spurs were losing by 30 points at Halftime. Thats a 60 point difference.

Kidd is a good story and did a great job turning around the Nets franchise. But he didnt do solely by himself. Van Horn and Kittles being healthy for once, Martin coming into his own, the acquisition of McCullogh, and rookie contributions from Jefferson have all led to the Nets turn around. Its not just Jason Kidd.

Well Francine that's the point. Kidd's acquisition made everyone else on that team better. He knows how to run an offense, he knows how to get everyone involved and how many Nets point guards before him can say that?

I'll answer that with this...Jason Kidd/Game 5 against the Pacers. Kidd played all but 2-5 minutes of a double overtime game and carried the Nets in both overtimes after they had their hearts ripped out by Miller's buzzer-beater. No Kittles, for the most part, no Van Horn, just Kidd. That's more impressive than Duncan's feat. Want to make me believe Duncan's the MVP? How about leading the Spurs over the Lakers and Shaq? If he can do that, he can gladly have all the accolades he wants, until then he is still 2nd best this year behind Kidd.

I think this year, there should have been co- MVP's. I think if any year deserved it, it was Kidd and Duncan this year. Both of them are deserving of this award and both make their teams better.

I cannot believe Byron Scott is not getting coach of the year, while Carlisle from Detroit is? So basically the Nets have the best year in the history of their franchise and win absolutely nothing form the NBA writers. That's disgraceful. I guess Rod Thorn has no shot at Executive of the Year either. Maybe Scott Layden can win that. I think he helped the Nets more than Thorn did. He totally destroyed the Nets main competition in the Knicks and made the Nets the hot team in the area.

Duncan may not have his Spurs beat the Lakers, but he sure as hell will put up a better fight than Jason Kidd and the Nets will if thats the NBA Finals.

Jason Kidd doing a great job to get the Nets past the Pacers in that Game 5, yeah thats nice. But lets remember, the Nets were the #1 seed, and the Pacers were the #8 seed. It shouldnt have gotten to that point.

They're both deserving, but you really can't argue with Duncan: 25.5 ppg, 12.7 reb, 2.48 bpg. Plus 67 double doubles, which is pretty damn consistant. I'd have been shocked if he didn't win.

But Scott not winning coach of the year is ridiculous. I thought he was a lock in February for it

Jayson Kidd was 1000% more valuable to the Nets this year than Tim Duncan was to the Spurs.

Thus Than, Kidd should be the MVP hands down.

It's just another example of Jersey-Hatin'.

Kidd should win the MVP not Duncan. Kidd improved everyone else on the team and turned them around to make them a winning ballclub. The went from no chance in hell in getting into the postseason last year, to round two this year. I think thats worthy of the mvp award. Kidd is the best player in the league this year without a doubt. And also Scott should've gotten the coach of the year award. he deserves it more than anyone else.

I was listening to WFAN early this morning and the guy said that 5 sportswriters left Jason Kidd OFF of their ballots. They did not see him even in the top 5.

And Byron Scott got trounced in the voting for NBA coach of the year 73 to 15 and he even finished 3rd behind Sacramento's coach.

You're kidding right?? So matchups, good or bad, should just go out the windown because the Nets were #1 seed? Interesting logic.
Here is ultimately how I see it. The Spurs would have been a .500 team without Duncan in the lineup. Without Kidd the Nets won 26 games in 2000-01. This year they won 52, that's a 100% increase. If that's not considered Most Valuable, I don't know what is.

When the Spurs beat the Lakers in this series everyone will see why he is the MVP...
