Um, where's Johnny Damon? Smart move leaving him off the squad Torre, you fool. Robert Fick representing the Tigers? There wouldve been nothing wrong with Jeff Weaver representing them, and having Damon be on the team. Damon is good enough to start, muchless be on the team.

And where the heck is Ray Durham too? Nomar doesnt deserve to be on the team either. Lets try to reward more than 1 2B ok? Granted, there are 5 great SS, but comeon, Durham is doing well this year too, and he should be the backup at that position. Vizquel couldve been left off the team in exchange for Durham. Other than that, no real complaints for the AL team (well Olerud shouldve been on there instead of Thome, having no Mariner reserves is bullshit).

On the NL side, you think that dirtbag manager Brenly is not gonna get some heat for having Junior Spivey on the team instead of Jeff Kent? And Damian Miller is not an all-star. Other than that, the team was picked well.

Maybe im nitpicking...oh well. Im sure i'll be even more pissed off at the rotation these guys choose to have. Im not really as angry as i have been in the past about these 2 teams, not much being left off here (besides Damon). Overall, a pretty good job, but could be better.

Small correction to NASA's post - Jim Thome isn't on the All-Star roster, at least not yet.

Anyway, the pitchers:

AL

Derek Lowe
Pedro Martinez
Mark Buehrle
Barry Zito
Roy Halladay
Freddy Garcia
Kazuhiro Sasaki
Mariano Rivera
Eddie Guardado

NL

Curt Schilling
Randy Johnson
Matt Morris
Tom Glavine
Odalis Perez
Mike Williams
Trevor Hoffman
Byung-Hyun Kim
John Smoltz
Eric Gagne

Also, the 30th spot on each roster is to be voted on by the fans.

In the AL, it's between Jim Thome, Eric Chavez, Darin Erstad, Johnny Damon, and Magglio Ordonez.

In the NL, it's between Albert Pujols, Larry Walker, Ryan Klesko, Brian Giles, and Andruw Jones.

Overall, I can't complain too much. I'd like to see Astacio or Leiter in there, the NL should only have one backup catcher, I think Jeter and possibly Visquel or Tejada should have been left off, and Chavez should be in over Ventura.

Pitchers arent that bad, although having 5 closers is a bit much. They couldve put Padilla or Leiter on the team instead of Smoltz, who has a near 5.00 ERA. Ill take back that Olerud comment, since Thome isnt on the team. Chavez should be in over Ventura definitely. Hopefully Damon wins the 30th spot, and i'll vote for Andruw Jones, even though i hate the Braves. He deserves to be in it.

Anyone else think Daryl Kile should be voted the 30th man for the NL? Would be a great tribute.

First off, Joe Torre is as much of a jackass picking these teams as he always has been .... 5 SS's .... I mean come on .... there should only be 2, at most 3, .... I am a Red Sock fan and I don't think Nomar should be there and Jeter should be left off .... Vizquel has almost the same offensive #'s as those 2 but he is way better defensively than all of them ....

....and 3rd base should only be batista and hillenbrand .... and there should be another 2nd baseman as well as more OF's ....

lastly, damon won't get selected even though I hope he does because there are already 5 red sock players on the team ....

In the NL for the 30th player how can it not be narrowed down to L. Walker and Giles .... All the other guys are scrubs

The Curse shall be lifted .... If there isn't a strike!!
