You got it Raven, and thanks! I will volunteer to be the official Devils game results poster, since I receive the e-mail automatically, and can cut and paste here.

The best series so far has got to be the Stars/Oilers. What a game last night! Oilers score twice in the final two minutes to tie the game!

Awesome first round so far! Hello? Flyer fans, where are you? Not looking too good.

Senator fans? Not looking too good!

What, there are other teams in the playoffs besides the Devils?!??

I thought Vancouver was going to be competitive for a minute there...then they lost game two. Washington-Pittsburgh looks to be a long series. Dallas-Edmonton is the most exciting series so far. Hey, the Kings won last night!! That 14 game playoff losing streak is over!! And now the Kings wont win another. Might go six. Maybe. Possibly. Um...probably not.

EDM needs to win, I don't like Dallas, but I Detroit has to win. Yea I thought Vancouver was actually going to maybe pull-out a win but they didn't.

What more can you expect out of Vancouver? They are severely outmatched by Colorado. They are without their best player in Markus Naslund, and they are going with Daniel Cloutier and Bob Essensa in Goal. Yet with all that, they lost 2 very tough one goal games in Colorado. Vancouver has been very competitive so far.

Well its about damn time the Flyers won one. Lets not forget that they lost the first two at home last year to the Pens and won the series.... granted, the Penguins don't have Hasek but by the same token, the Flyers have a way of rattling him.... this series isn't over just yet.

I still (has much as it pains me to say it) don't see anybody in the East taking out those stinking Devils.
I do have to admit, I am very impressed with the Caps thus far.

As good as Colorado is, its anybody's game in the West.

The Flyers might have just saved there season, but Ottawa's is over. Apparently the Leafs were faking the crappy home stretch of the regular season to fake out the Sens into thinking they sucked. Well, with a 3-0 series lead, i think we see that Ottawa sucks, and they were the overrated "great team" of the East this year, not NJ. The Devils, for the first time, i think are not overrated in that #1 spot

ottowa reminds me of the devils in 98, they do well throughout the season, but they cant get anything going for them. i dont think lalime is handling the playoff pressure too well, and theyre pretty much done

I still dont believe in Toronto and I know that only twice has a team come back from a 3-0 deficit, but I wouldnt count out Ottawa. If they can win the next game, then they go back home and can make it 3-2, and its a new series.

I am going to go out on a limb right now, if Im wrong,Im wrong, but I believe that the Ottawa Senators will become the 3rd Team in NHL History to win a series after trailing 3-0.

Ottawa in 7.

Banger, give me some of what you are smoking. :) Toronto is headed to the play the Devils, who I hope win two more games :). But, as MrQuotes said, Ottawa is very like the Old Devils. The lack of scoring, while not giving any up. This is huge Devils hockey from years ago. I think Jacques Martin is doing was Lemaire/Ftorek did. So maybe it is time for some new blood up there in Canada.

These were my original picks prior to the playoffs beginning:

Here are my predictions for the first round:

EASTERN CONFERENCE
Devils in 5
Ottawa in 6
Pittsburgh in 6
Philadelphia in 7

WESTERN CONFERENCE
Colorado in 4 (sweep)
Detroit in 6
Edmonton (yes, Edmonton) in 7 (upset of first round)
St. Louis in 7

Toronto is a big surprise so far. The defense and Cujo have done some job on Ottawa. I still think Carolina may take one at home. It looks like the Devs and the Maple Leafs AGAIN! This will be a good series.

I still think Philly will bounce back against Buffalo. Pittsburgh is looking better and better.

I also still like Edmonton in the upset of Dallas.

Great to see Scott Stevens go after Sandis Ozolinsh! What a tough guy. Thats typical Stevens. I didnt see him so anxious to go after Langdon.

Yea ok Francine, Ozo wanted to go eith Scottie and Scottie did not have a problem with that. Besides pussy Langdon was already thrown out of the game at that point for Diving on Turner Stevenson. Let's Go Devils, Let's go to Toronto.

BTW, Messier hit an 85 today. An improvement from yesterday's 88.

FINAL
New Jersey 4, Carolina 0

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) _ The defending Stanley Cup champions have a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the Hurricanes, who have been outscored a combined 11-1.

The top-seeded Devils can advance to the second round with a victory Wednesday night.

Martin Brodeur recorded his second straight shutout and 10th of his playoff career, stopping 16 shots.

New Jersey tied an NHL record with 10 straight road wins at the end of the regular season, and the Devils picked up where they left off.

The Devils got goals by Bobby Holik and Scott Gomez 7:20 into the first playoff game at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.

Gomez, last season's rookie of the year, also
added two assists for his first three-point playoff game.

Holik got his third of the series with a wrist
shot over Arturs Irbe's glove 4:44 in, and less
than three minutes later Irbe's clear to the
corner went right on the stick of Alexander Mogilny, who found a wide open Gomez for a 2-0 lead.

The Devils put the game away five minutes into
the second when Randy McKay beat Irbe for his
15th career playoff goal and Brian Rafalski
scored his first of the series on a breakaway.

The Devils next game will be Wednesday evening
at Carolina in game 4 of the Eastern Conference
Quarterfinals. Game time is 7:35 PM and will be
broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and 1560 AM.

This Devils-Hurricanes series has quickly turned into Devils-Capitals '88

iRemember that fondly..i was 6 at the time, and the Capitals, knowing the series was lost, decided to just fight and be all pissed off and uppity. that was a great series

Well, I guess my prediction for this series will happen. Devils in 5, after they win Friday night in front of the home crowd!

FINAL
New Jersey 2, Carolina 3

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – Rod Brind'Amour scored 46 seconds into overtime as the Hurricanes stayed alive in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals with a 3-2 victory.
Sami Kapanen and David Tanabe also scored power-play goals, and Kapanen set up Brind'Amour on the first shot of the extra period.

Kapanen broke in over the blue line, faked a shot, and then threw a pass to a streaking Brind'Amour, who poked it past Martin Brodeur for the winner.

New Jersey had outscored the Hurricanes 11-1 coming in and appeared on the brink of a 4-0 sweep, but Carolina broke a six-game playoff losing streak against a team that won the previous three games 5-1, 2-0 and 4-0.

The Devils tied it 2-2 with 10:29 left on a short-handed goal by Petr Sykora, who beat Irbe on his stick side from 30 feet.

Kapanen and Brind'Amour, moving up to the top line to replace Francis, each had three-point nights as the Hurricanes outskated the Devils, who had won 22 of 24 overall and 11 straight road games.

The teams had combined to go 0-for-32 on the power play in the previous three games, but each team got a goal with the man-advantage in the first period.

Carolina grabbed its first lead in the series – a span of 182 minutes – and Brodeur lost his bid for a third straight playoff shutout when Kapanen flipped in a rebound shot from the right point by Brind'Amour.

The Devils a two-man advantage for 42 seconds during the first period. It didn't take New Jersey long to tie it as Arnott was left alone in front of Irbe and became the 10th player to score in the series for the Devils.

Carolina missed an opportunity with three minutes left in the first, getting a two-man advantage for more than a minute, but failed to score on Brodeur.

The Hurricanes also didn't score with a two-man advantage for a span of 1:14 in the second while they led 2-1.

Devils Radio announcer John Hennessy recently spoke with Scott Gomez about his second season in the NHL. Gomez talked about the added expectations of being a NHL Rookie of the Year and the drive to defend the Stanley Cup. Listen to this interview and more in Interview with a Devil.

The Devils next game will be at Friday evening against Carolina in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Game time is 7:35 PM and will be broadcast locally on MSG and nationally on ESPN2 and 1560 AM. Tickets

Red Dog, your post are too big for me to read.

The question was asked if their is any team that has a shot at beating the Devils. They are a force right now.

I think the only team that has the slightest chance is Buffalo (homer). The Devils are going to easily coast by Toronto. Ottawa has not learned how to play playoff hockey and Toronto's sweep should not be that much of a surprise. However with Buffalo-NJ, you could have a really good series. Maybe not. Since the last time these two met, Broduer has gotten older and better, where as Hasek has just gotten older.

Sloats, that is the email I get after each game. I already edit out portions of it. I am just trying to provide the information for people who may have missed the game.

Do not count Pittsburgh out. If the Devils face Pittsburgh, that would be a tough series also. Anyone remember 1999?
