Anybody looking for some fun, I just got back from a Newark Bears baseball game. It's very nice. To liven it up, at least for now, Ozzie and Jose Conseco, and Jim Leyritz are on the team. Oh, also I think Lance Johnson was an ex minor league Met is on the team too. Tickets are $6 or $8. Lots of family oriented stuff for the kids. Nice new park. I am not affiliated with it, but it sure as hell beats the price for Yankee or Mets tickets.

Oh, and a ps. I also went to a couple of games at the Somerset Patriots park last year and that is cool also. May even try the LI Ducks park for the F of it. Anybody else have anything to add?

Dude, I live about 3/4 of a mile from Somerset Pats' stadium. My good friend works on the grounds crew. He met with Tim Raines and Pat Kelly last year when they were trying to make the Olympic team. I got him to get Sparky Lyle to sign a ball for me which I already had about 18 various Yankees on.(the scooter, Lee Mazili, joe pepitone, clete boyer, etc..)
I go to about 15 to 20 games a year, maybe more.It sure as hell isn't like going to Yankee Stadium, but it is closer, cheaper, and more convienient when I happen to get free time to catch a ball game. If you have kids its way better then going to the Bronx or Queens or even Phili. During a night game, at the end of the 7th or 8th inning, when there is all the drunkards left over, the heckling gets pretty funny.
Atlantic League is fun

Im sure its probably worth it. you will get more quality Baseball than the team that plays in Flushing, thats for sure.

I just hope the Devils get a new arena just around the corner from there. THat area of Newark is getting better, and with the new office buildings and stuff going up a new arena district would rock.
