No Question: Iverson is MVP

The last time a Sixer was named MVP, Philadelphia went on to win the NBA crown in 1983 behind Moses Malone. Philly fans are hoping that's an omen for this season. Allen Iverson today won the MVP award, beating out San Antonio's Tim Duncan with 93 first-place votes to 18. The 76ers have called a 2 p.m. ET news conference.

He definately deserved it. I used to be an Iverson hater. But he seems to have cleaned up his act, none of that skipping practice, crying about the coach stuff anymore. He's putting the team first, and has my approval now (like that means anything).

As a true blooded Philly fan, I even had my moments of skepticism regarding Iverson, but he has grown up quite a bit. He and Larry Brown seem to have developed a true relationship and I believe Allen is just starting to tap into his true potential. To me, Iverson is much like Spree in that while both have given the fans plenty of reasons to dislike them, they both have matured and caused us to re-evaluate and find new respect for them. One thing is certain, few people in the league play with the passion and heart of Allen Iverson.

Say hello to my little friend(s)!
Once again I am newbieless.
