The curvy court cutie and her iceman exchanged vows at an intimate ceremony in their native Moscow with just five guests looking on, Britain's The Sun newspaper said. The wedding reportedly took place while the rest of the tennis world was watching Wimbledon - which Kournikova skipped because of a hairline fracture in her foot. The couple rented out the register office for the entire day to keep the nuptials under wraps. Only their parents and Federov's brother were invited. "It was so lovely," Federov's mom, Natalia, told the paper. "I am very happy to be Anna's mother-in-law." Kournikova, 20, and Federov, 31, carefully timed the ceremony, a friend said. "Anna did not want to be a teen bride, so they waited until her 20th birthday," he said. "They got married during Wimbledon, when Anna was injured. She thought it would be a good time to avoid publicity." Kournikova has been dating the Detroit Red Wings star on and off since she was 15, but she ditched him last year for a rival hockey player, Pavel Bure of the Florida Panthers. After the ceremony, the newlyweds decided to skip a honeymoon and returned to their $8 million mansion in Miami. | ||||

British newspaper The Sun reported Monday that the Russian tennis player had married her long-time boyfriend and Detroit Red Wings star Sergei Fedorov in a secret ceremony in Moscow during Wimbledon earlier this month. "To be honest with you I am sick and tired with the calls about her marriage, last year it was (Pavel) Bure, now it's Fedorov," Sergei Kournikov told Reuters by telephone on Monday. "Anna is in Florida at the moment and has begun training. Only yesterday I spoke with her on the phone and I think she would be very surprised to hear about this latest rumor," he said. "She hasn't been in Moscow since last year's Kremlin Cup (tennis tournament) in November." The Sun quoted Fedorov's mother Natalya as saying: "It was a lovely ceremony. I am very happy to be Anna's mother-in-law." When told about the quote, Kournikov said: "I don't know how Fedorov's mother would say anything about a marrage of my daughter because as far as I know she lives in Detroit." Kournikova, 20, has been out of action since February with a stress fracture of her left foot. Her agent said Kournikova would not resume playing until she was completely fit. Last year, The Mirror, another British tabloid newspaper, said that Kournikova was engaged to another Russian hockey ace Pavel Bure, who plays for the NHL's Florida Panthers.
