Its sad when this is our biggest acquisition, and its a re-acquisition. Right wing Sandy McCarthy re-signs with New York Rangers July 24, 2001 NEW YORK (AP) -- Right wing Sandy McCarthy has re-signed with the New York Rangers. McCarthy had 11 goals, 10 assists and 171 penalty minutes in 81 games last season, when he earned $880,000. Terms of the new contract for the restricted free agent were not disclosed by the Rangers when they announced the signing Tuesday.
