This guy is pitching some impressive baseball. The Sox are 10-0 in his last 10 starts, and his overall record is 6-1. Which means that of course, he gets help, but also that he keeps his team in the game, and pitches 6 to 7 innings every start, which helps the bullpen. Good for him.

Cone definately made a huge comeback from his disasterous season with the Yankees. But there is another Boston pitcher who made another impressive comeback...Hideo Nomo.

I would also put Kerry Wood up there. I mean the guy came back from a big surgery.

Cone has been very good, no doubt. But he has been getting some good run support. His ERA is over 4, yet the Redsox have won in almost every start he has made.

Of course, it happens to everyone who leaves a New York team.

Cone's stats look real good, because they were so awful last year. The sox may be 10-0 in his last 10 starts, but I would give that to their bullpen. Cone only pitches 4 or 5 innings a game, which is not too impressive.

So far in the AL, you have to give Boone the comeback player award...

2000: .250, 19HR, 74 RBI, 61 Runs
2001: .321, 21HR, 91 RBI, 70 Runs

and in the NL Matt Morris hands down (although Wood is worthy)

2000: 53.0 Inn 3-3 3.57era 34 Ks
2001: 138.0 Inn 12-6 2.87era 104 Ks

Just another observation of insanity.

make that 11-0 in his last 11 starts. He didnt get the win today, but he pitched 6 solid innings giving up only 2 runs. The turnaround that this guy is having is absolutely amazing.
