| Psychopath Registered: Jul. 01  | How pathetic is this? -------------------------------------------------- Lawmaker Wants to Honor Ruth to Help End Curse .c The Associated Press BOSTON (Aug. 14) -- A lawmaker and longtime Red Sox fan is doing his part to break the mythical "Curse of the Bambino'' that some believe has kept the team from winning the World Series. State Rep. Angelo Scaccia is sponsoring a resolution to officially recognize the retirement of Babe Ruth, who started his career with the Red Sox before the New York Yankees acquired him prior to the 1920 season. Scaccia is among those planning a ceremony in September at which the player's 84-year-old daughter, Julie Ruth Stevens, will accept the resolution. "Nothing will bring us a championship other than honoring Babe Ruth,'' planner Harvey Robbins told the Boston Herald. "We've got to do this to lift the curse, and we've got to do this with honor.'' The Red Sox have not won a World Series since 1918. Everest and this dumb gag which will both prove futile, I am sure there have been many other of these wacky and stupid stunts which do nothing more than get a cute little article on the AP or some other news outlet. I don't believe in curses, and many many Sox fans don't either. If I were a fan of theirs I might start believing, because it's either a jinx, or what their fans say about the Yankees is actually true about them. SOX SUCK. This Curse shit has gone on until I puke here in Boston. Despite the cheers to the contrary EVERYWHERE in Boston, the Yankees DO NOT suck. Of course, neither do the Red Sox. They've had one good player for the whole year, and every other good one has missed significant time. The Mets, however, DO suck. | ||||
