the issue is inconsistency. one thing is good for one, but not for others. 2..or wait, retardly, 3 were picked out...meanwhile across the board, others do as they please. Rules are meant to be instilled across the board, not to a select few who happened to annoy someone's Shangri La of Off-Topic Newbie Paradise kick. You dictated policy, but yet flaunt it yourself..and then get defensive and angry when it's rightly pointed out. Which is the rule, and for who. Is it for those FTL doesn't like, or to all members? Say so. Stick with it. I for one, can not figure what the issue was in the first place but overbearing nitpicking. You say you don't want to fall into the hole of some other boards...yet, here we are with taking exceptions to one thing, ignoring others, and being ultimately, hypocritical. You want to be different???...follow the rules you set.

that was the problem with the last board the better you knew some people on the board the more rules you didn't have to follow
