All you O.G.'s need to speak up and say some shit every once and a while...give us new folk some guidance. perhaps via u2u even....whatever.
Contact the offenders of turning threads into chat rooms. Let them know it won't be tolerated.
Seems like the mods here need to do some more moderating. Maybe?
and yeah - really - stop trying to relive the past. At least, give us rules if you REALLY want it to be like it used to be. Tell all of us in straight terms what will or won't be tolerated. It's that simple really.
Those who knowingly break these rules, commit these hated faux paus - out you go.
but if you O.G. folks don't speak up, how are the rest of us supposed to know?
Some of us have better things to do with our time than to go back and read threads from a year ago and beyond.
Certain folks have dropped me hints as to how this place runs (or at least, supposed to run) and I do my best to roll with it...I'm sure others would as well if you just point them in the right direction.

When shit started(and i am sorry to name names but i have to) with SLASH and Kenspen every active Mod and both Admins jumped the gun to try to prevent this "derailing" of threads you speak of.
Arpi came, he was banned bc his shit was useless and cluttering the board.
As for this U2U shit, yes i have tried that, ask Tinymike and Kenspen....I tried my best to do what i could but NO ONE would fucking listen bc frankly i don't think they really care at this point.
I was told i was being to "harsh" or "taking shit too seriously" so what did i do to better myself?...i gave the fuck up bc i can't get into an arguement over this or that everyday over threads, i can't warn countless people, i can't Hole EVERYONE it will not accomplish a goddamned thing. So i have just sat back and let the stupid fucks that are posters(you know who you are) destroy the board. I didn't create this place, i wasn't even on OnA.com i don't know shit from shit about any of you, nor do i pretend to. Do whatever the fuck you want right now this place is marked D.O.A.

You'd have to actually have been there to know what I'm talking about. OA.com (2001) compared to OA.com (2002)? No comparison whatsoever, 2001 blew it away big time.
It's kinda like people who started listening to the O&A show after they were syndicated. They thought this was the best thing they had ever heard, but for us who listened way back when they were still playing music in between bits it was clear. O&A post syndication SUCKED!

I loved O&A as much in pre-sydication as I did afterwards. Of course, I have a certain preference for the pre-syn stuff but still - O&A still remained true to who they were after syndication. That was all that mattered to me.

Well...that show is cancelled, we're all adrift, awaiting its return. Some do open serious threads..protect them...warn the chatters...at least, have folk who have the stomach to do so and not just toss their hands up into the air.
Or is this place meant to be a giant dating pool that exists under the guise of an O&A-centric message board?
The point being - change the name of the site if this place isn't supposed to be about the show.
Mods, I say this respectfully, keep your asses in here (or make a schedule, man your watch...figure it out, I dunno.) and show all of the misguided the proper path and if they fail you too many times as a member of your board then, show them the cyberdoor.

I responded to you in a U2U, but there was this one part I forgot to include. (See people, AIM & U2U's. You don't need to turn every damn thread into your own personal conversation piece)
It was never about inside jokes in the past. That's not what I miss. As a matter of fact that rarely existed there and in my opinion was part of the downfall of OA.com. Don't get me wrong, there were lots of factors, but that was one of them.
So, for you to say I or we expect you guys to use old inside jokes, that is the furthest from the truth.

As a matter of fact, that quote was from FTL in a post to me where he gave me a SOLID INDICATION of what is tolerated and what isn't...

I like to think that it was posts like that that helped me "see the light" (if I have in fact seen it, I dunno...) and helped me understand how this place ran. Also, i tleft me no choice but to respect the guy for coming straight out and speaking up. Just like Alkey did in my newbie "intro of self" thread
