personally, i'd rather spend my money on dvd's, watch the movies, memorize lines, and spend hours in quote threads with Header and TheDude, but that's just me.

I'm saving my money for a dvd-rw and some rentals.

I have a feeling, since O&A would probably be bigger than Jesus when they come back, that whichever satellite company gets them would offer a great package deal on systems... a huge promotion.

Remember, Microsoft's hardware for the X-Box was really expensive and they lost a ton of money on it - but it was the software where they made it all back.

The same deal is here. I'll venture to guess that the satellite companies are willing to lose money on the hardware if they'll make it up in subscriptions.

i refuse to pay for radio. its not a financial thing. i just dont want to hear O&A so badly that i'm going to run out and buy a new device to do it and then pay a montly fee.

get back on mainstream radio and i'll gladly tune in if you're entertaining.

plus, i think going to satellite radio is letting the FCC win. I think they should weather the storm and when people start to forget, as they always do, go back to the hijinks that we all grew to love.

i found this on http://www.fcc.gov/parents/content.html

"Expressions of views that do not involve a "clear and present danger of serious substantive evil" come under the protection of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The Communications Act prohibits the FCC from censoring broadcast material, in most cases, and from making any regulation that would interfere with freedom of speech. According to an FCC opinion on this subject, "the public interest is best served by permitting free expression of views." This principle ensures that the most diverse and opposing opinions will be expressed, even though some may be highly offensive. <b>The Courts have said that indecent material is protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution and cannot be banned entirely. Nonetheless, the FCC has taken numerous enforcement actions against broadcast stations for violations of the restrictions on broadcast indecency.</b>"

They're basically saying, we don't care what the courts say, we're gonna fine you anyway. Who do these people think they are???
