Printer advice
#1
I'm thinking about buying a new printer. I currently have an Epson Stylus Photo 820, which got good reviews at the time I bought it.

However, I find now that the print quality for photos isn't so great, and the text quality leaves something to be desired.

It will mainly be used for photos and school reports, so I need both photo and text capability.

Another problem with my current Epson is that it seems the print heads constantly need to be cleaned for good quality...using a lot of ink.

Anyway, anybody have any suggestions on printers to look at?

I have the p1100; it's an older model, but it handles pictures beautifully, and has CompactFlash slots to accomodate pics directly from digital cameras (no need to boot up the PC, you can print directly).

As far as ink, catridges are expensive (I buy the black/color ink combo for around $54.99 or so), but they last a while. Especially since photos printed on Draft settings still come out fantastic.
