You would think the LAPD would know better by now

I personally don't get the West Coast mentality when it comes to this. I know that damn near every town in my area with the sole exception of Philadelphia, has no problem refraining from beating on a subject after a pursuit.

My department used to be feared among people in our Tri-State Area (NJ, PA, DE). You didn't disrespect an officer from this town, you didn't give a false name, and god fucking help you if you touched one. Nowadays, we can't do it like that. Plain and simple, times have changed.

I've been in countless foot and car chases that ended with the tackling of a suspect, only to be shoved around a little, and walked back to a car. I will admit to physically assaulting suspects in the event that they injured a fellow officer. I simply won't give them the chance to hurt me, or another officer. If one of us gets hit, so does he.

As for group stomping people, that's a total West Coast/ Major City thing. I just dont get it.
