So you saying that the Federation is the USSR?

I think in Star Trek, it's not forced among the people though. They wanted this.

I don't see how it is like communism if they are working to better themselves.

Communism to me sounds like you are forcing values onto the major of people through the power you have.

From how people in the Federation acted, it doesn't seem like they were unhappy.
