Son of \"party mom\" pleads guilty to charges

James A. Smith Jr., son of \"party mom\" Megan Smith, pleaded guilty today to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and criminal trespass in Montgomery County Court.

His mother was sentenced last week to 15 to 30 months in state prison for hosting teen drinking party at her Willow Grove home where the sexual assault occurred, and for threatening the victim.

Today, James Smith took the stand and admitted that he had the victim perform oral sex on him during a teen drinking party in December 2002.

He was 18 at the time; the victim had just turned 14.

It's an open plea, meaning there's no agreement on a sentence. But Todd Stephens, assistant district attorney, said he agreed not to seek a sentence of more than 4-to-8 years in prison. Smith will have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
