So there's already been a thread about NFL football getting ready to start up but I'm honestly more excited for College Football.
I went to Texas A&M so I'm a HUGE fan. Football + Texas = Life. It truly is like Varsity Blues down here. High school football games are on Friday nights and they show the highlights on the local news and have whole shows soley devoted to H.S. football. All this hype makes recruiting for college that much more competitive.
Anyway, just seeing if anyone here likes it as much as I do so I have someone to talk about it with this season.
Go Aggies!

I always wondered.
What can you major in at Texas A&M? Farming?

Yeah, I get the farmer jokes all the time. A&M stands for Agricultural and Mechanical but it's a major university with 42,000 students, we're not all farmers.
I majored in Journalism/Public Relations.

So if it is Texas Agriculture and Mechanical, can you major in Pre-med? Or Computer Science?
If you can, then what's the deal with the A&M?

There is some type of Pre-Med but we have no medical school so people usually don't major in that area. Although we have one of the best Vet schools in the country.
A&M officially doesn't 'stand' for anything anymore. They are trying to get away from that stereotype of hick farmers. There is computer science and tons of engineering majors. We also have a Corps of Cadets so there's military on campus also. It's just a huge mix of a bunch of people and majors. But in general A&M is known for Agriculture, Engineering, Business and U of Texas is known for the Liberal Arts.
But are you a college football fan or what???

Go Terps!
First year that our football team will likely be better than our basketball team. Should be a fun year, lot more good teams in the ACC than there usually are.
And this is the year we finally beat FSU.
