Connecticut HS Teacher In Pot Bust

(1010 WINS) (New Haven) -- A former Branford High School teacher accused of operating a marijuana factory out of his home has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Harold Von Hofe yesterday pleaded guilty to one count of sale of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended after three years of probation.
Von Hofe had been a teacher at the time of his December 2001 arrest.
Police at the time said they seized several marijuana plants, a computer, drug paraphernalia such as smoking pipes, a scale, lamps used to help the plants grow and fertilizer.
The cases of Von Hofe's wife and two sons,have also been resolved. Kathleen Von Hofe received a nine month suspended sentence, with a one year conditional discharge.
Nolles were entered in the cases of both sons.
The Branford school board fired Harold Von Hofe in April of 2002 and he's sued to get his job back.
