X-Mas cards in the workplace
#1
I don't mail them out...I don't give any to my co-workers.

does that make me a scumbag?

Don't get me wrong, some do get cards from me...my closest people but..I dunno..here, at work, everybody gives everyone a damn card like it's Valentines Day in 3rd Grade where EVERYONE gives everyone else a damn card regardless of whether you liked them or not...ya know?

I refuse to partake. What about you? Where do you draw the line between "worthy of holiday card" and "not worthy"?

*edit* I like to add that uber-religious cards are gay. Spare me the Jesus mumbo-jumbo.

It doesn't make you a scum bag.

My wife asks me who specifically I want to give a card to outside of the family. The list is short. 2 friends and the two ladies I work with. The other guy here and I have an unspoken of agreement not to partake in that shit. I give the two ladies cards because I know they are going to get me like gift certificates to amazon or something so it's just a good idea to give them a little card with my kid's picture in it (cause they like that) and I'm cheap.

Religious cards are reserved for people I absolutely know are overly religious and I don't buy them. They come in the mail courtesy of the Franciscan Friars asking for a donation. I live in what used to be my grandmother's house before she passed away so I get all kinds of fun stuff like that that is sent to her.

Normally any card that I personally write in is blank to begin with and I write something like merry christmas or maybe a personal message too if it's one of my two friends.

Other than that my wife takes care of all that.

*and back on the subject of in the workplace. I honestly thought for a second should I give a card to the guy here despite the fact that we don't give each other cards. Then I said if he gets pissed off then so be it. No card for him.

I guess I'm lucky there are only 4 people in my office.

I can't stand religious cards. They're so smug.
This is why I bought Simpsons X-mas cards yesterday, but only special people are getting them.
