I never understood the need to make new users feel welcome. What's wrong with making people jump into the fire?

I'm not saying you have to bake them a cake, but when was the last time you saw a new user here?

So what does this mean anyway? Is the lack of newcomers because of a bad reputation this place has for trashing new users? That's ashame. THis place gives a varying degree of the same welcome to pretty much everyone. It's actually pretty tame if you ask me unless someone comes in and is a total retard.

Or should we all be responsible for canvasing the internet for possible new users and then lick their balls when they get here so they can stay?

I guess I just don't understand the mentality that a messageboard (or a grouping of people with like interests) feel the need to go out and recruit more people. Can't it be happy where it's at and maybe from time to time there will be little rise in attendance or new usership? Also old posters that disappeared for a bit pop out of nowhere and return as well.

Sure it would be nice to see some more traffic new topics and more discussion that isn't between just two or three people. It happens in time. When the show starts back up people will migrate over here (if here is still here) even if it is to defend the show against the horrible people that bash it.

I don't feel I've ever really bashed the show or the guys on it, myself. However,

I bash the idea of paying for radio because I am a little bitter. REgardless of speculation and rumors about satellite, I always held out hope that when they finally announced it they would be broadcasting on FM somewhere in this nation (at least on one station) with syndication on XM or Sirius.

I am not against buying xm as a matter of principle or as a show of anger over some kind of selling out by o&a. I am not running out to buy xm because I simply don't have the money. Sure it's not a lot of money but it's not a lot of money that I don't have either. You can look at my expenditures and mock that notion all you want but when I look at all the pros and cons spending all the money on digi cable hbo and internet are more important to me than scaling that back to get satellite radio.

This may turn out to be a bunch of crap anyway because this week I may get a new job that pays more and my wife my also get a new job that pays more and things will be turning around. *knock wood* Once that ever happens I will be able to afford things like xm and I may just go out and buy it afterall.
