Quote:it seems these days MOST Republicans have utter disdain for Democrats.

Liberal has become a dirty word'
\"Dems\" are misguided, treasonous, in fact ALL our countries problems can apparently be traced to Clinton,
or some earlier Democratic President,
It drives me crazy.
Just remember, kids:

When Saddam Hussein went to war with Iran, who supplied him with weapons?
A: Ronald Reagan.

Who supplied Osama Bin Laden with weapons and training to fight off the Russians in Afghanistan?
A: Ronald Reagan.

When the Iran-Contra scandal came out, who had been supplying weapons to Iran, even though that would have been going against the earlier assistance to their enemy in Iraq?
A: George H. Bush (while he was vice-president under Reagan).

Is it any wonder why Hussein and Bin Laden hate us so much? We have this strange tendency to change policy and allies from administration to administration. By the time Cliniton came into the Presidency, the hatred was there even though he wasn't making any waves. The assassination attempt on the 1st President Bush following the Gulf War and the 1993 attack on the WTC should have warned us that something was imminent.

This is what I mean about celebrity endorsements.

Danny Glover has extreme political views. He is more than welcome and as an American, completely entitled to them.

However, as a celebrity, who tries to make money by entertaining America, he should realize that the views he has and publically supports can and will affect his public persona as a celebrity and affect the way he makes money.

Without knowing about Glover's political views, you'd see him as a fine African-American actor, who was not quite Denzel or Morgan Freeman, but had carved out a niche for himself.

Now, imagine you're the CEO of a company and you align yourself with a B-level celebrity to sell your product. You get name recognition, a friendly recognizable face, and your product sells.

But what happens when more and more people find out about the celebrity who is endorsing your product has these kind of views? Your product is then associated with HIS views, and sales of your product can and will plummet.

Why do you think, for the most part, people you see who are celebrity endorsers are very mild, middle-of-the road people who don't make waves with their personal or political lives?

If Danny Glover chooses to make his views public, he should realize it will be difficult for him to endorse products.

Oh i agree that if you have an opinion about something and people don't like it they are intitled to call you on it.

mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again,
didn't need no welfare states
everybody pulled his weight,
gee our old Lasalle ran great,
those were the days!</center>
